New figures reveal we are now producing nearly 300 million tons of plastic every year, half of which is used just one and then thrown away.
More than 8 million tons of plastic is dumped into our oceans every year.
We all know we should reduce our plastic consumption but sometimes the lure of buying single use plastics in the form of a bottle of water or a takeaway coffee can prove irresistible.
Despite this, a recent study by YouGov of more than 2,000 people, commissioned by BRITA UK and environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, found that only a third of Britons bother to carry a refillable water bottle.
Here MailOnline looks at some of the best eco-friendy products on the market that are either made using recycled plastic or replace plastic with ocean friendly alternatives: Pictured is a SodaStream which could reduce the average household plastic bottle intake by 1,282 bottles
And yet as consumers become more aware of plastic waste, companies from Adidas to Waitrose and SilentNight are creating products that not only eschew plastics, but recycle existing plastics that are already polluting our environment.
2018 has seen more plastic-free alternatives hit the market than ever before.
Now, you can wear trainers made of recycled plastic found in the ocean, wrap your sandwiches in a natural and biodegradable alternative to cling film and even go to sleep under a luxurious recycled plastic duvet.

SLS can cause or irritate existing allergies, and even trigger bad breath.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
