«Breaking News» LeBron James declares himself 'the greatest player of all time' over Cleveland Cavalier's 2016 title

LeBron James declared himself the best basketball player of all time in an interview that aired on ESPN this week

LeBron James has finally weighed in on the debate about who is basketball's greatest player of all time - and his answer may or may not surprise you. 

The four-time NBA MVP said he believes the title belongs to him, and he's felt that way for a while now. 

Speaking on ESPN's More Than an Athlete program on Sunday night, LeBron said he felt that he cemented his place as king of the sport during the 2016 NBA Finals, when he helped the Cleveland Cavaliers crawl out of a three-to-one series hole against Golden State.  

He was awarded the unanimous Finals MVP for his performance that secured his hometown's first title in franchise history.  

'That one right there made me the greatest player of all time ... that's what I felt,' LeBron told business partners Maverick Carter, Randy Mims and Rich Paul on the ESPN program.

'I was super, super ecstatic to win one for Cleveland because of the 52-year drought. The first wave of emotion was when everyone saw me crying, like, that was all for 52 years of everything in sports that's gone on in Cleveland. And then after I stopped, I was like - that one right there made you the greatest player of all time.

LeBron said he's felt that he is the best since he led the Cleveland Cavaliers to their first NBA title in 2016 against the Golden State Warriors

'Everybody was just talking -- how [the Warriors] were the greatest team of all time, like it was the greatest team ever assembled,' LeBron continued. 'And for us to come back, you know, the way we came back in that fashion, I was like: "You did, you did something special." 

'That's probably one of the only times in my career I felt like, oh, s***, like you did something special. I haven't had, really had time, to really, like, sit back and think, but that ... that was a moment.'

The debate between LeBron and Michael Jordan has been a constant topic of debate in the basketball community over the years, but neither star had previously commented on it themselves.

LeBron, who now plays with the Los Angeles Lakers, has on multiple occasions expressed his admiration for Jordan, even wearing the number 23 in his honor.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
