«Breaking News» Jeremy Clarkson, 58, admits he's gotten 'unbelievably fat' since he quit smoking

Jeremy Clarkson has admitted he's gotten 'unbelievably fat' since he quit smoking, as he joined co-stars James May and Richard Hammond at The Grand Tour Season 3 Launch.

The presenter, 58, confessed that ditching the tobacco has led him to pile on the pounds as he spoke in a Q and A ahead of the screening, while co-host James May joked that that he 'was fat when he will smoking.'

It came as Jeremy put on a loved-up display with girlfriend Lisa Hogan, 46, as they attended the launch in London's The Brewery.

Answering audience questions about the impending third series, Jeremy confessed even he's been baffled by his growing waistline.

He said: 'I’m a lot fatter. I gave up smoking, anyone here given up smoking? Anyone else get fat, like unbelievably fat, as a result of it? It’s just terrifying.

James then hilariously quipped: 'So, why were you fat when you were smoking?' while Richard Hammond added: 'I was wondering.'

Ever the sharp-tongued presenter Jeremy then added: 'Same reason as you James, same reason as you. Exhibit A the smoker James May.'

Regardless Jeremy was still putting on a united display with partner Lisa at the shows launch, looking smart in a simple grey suit.

Meanwhile Lisa looked more stylish in a classic gold biker jacket over an all-black ensemble with her blonde tresses styled into effortless waves.

The couple were seen posing alongside a car, which is believed to be a red 2017 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, priced at around £69,000.

Jeremy and Lisa have been dating since March 2017, after he split from wife Frances Cain two years earlier.

The trio have been brought back together for the new series - expected to be full of cars, stars and non-stop action - before it begins on Amazon Prime on Friday 18th January.

While it was previously reported that the show had been axed after three series, it had been confirmed that The Grand Tour would go on, but not with its usual studio format.

All three stars have signed a new two-year deal with Amazon that is expected to yield as many as four stand alone shows a year, with the presenters travelling to far flung parts of the world in scenes not dissimilar to their globe-trotting adventures on Top Gear.

The stars also addressed rumours of another series at the show's launch, though went onto admit that the third series was STILL being finished - despite being days away from its premiere.

Jeremy explained: 'Well we were signed up by Amazon to do three seasons, but we’re delighted to say that Amazon has asked us to do more.

'People would say that we couldn’t tell them because we weren’t allowed to, but no we can’t tell you because we haven’t got around to finishing three.'

Richard then joked: 'We’re still finishing this.'

'We got round to doing this and then we talked to Amazon and they said they’d be delighted, and we love Amazon and they love us and consequently you’ve got us for a few more years yet,' Jeremy added.

'Yea, to be honest, we are as you know still doing season three. I’d love to be able to tell you that the entire season is finished, that’s not true. Mr Wilman, go and ask him about why it’s taking so long to edit it.

'There are still two shows which haven’t been edited, whichever ones they are, so we’re still working hard on three and when that’s over we’ll turn our attention to four, five and however more there are going, and what it’ll be like.'

During the chat Richard also spoke about the horrific crash he suffered 18 months ago while filming The Grand Tour, saying he was 'very proud' not to have been more seriously injured.

He explained: 'Yes, I’m very proud not to have crashed. In fact, I finished as intact as when I started. Sorry, didn’t bin it this time. I didn’t crash this time, shame I ruined a perfectly good record.

Jeremy them joked: 'Can I just say, I hurt myself' before brandishing a tiny cut on his finger.

Richard then quipped back: 'Oh, here we go. Ladies and gentleman, if you haven’t eaten now then don’t because this will turn your stomach.

But Jeremy added: 'The scar is still there, and that was six months ago. I was attempting to bash the beak off a porcelain duck with a hammer, and god knows how I got it wrong.'

And at one point Jeremy also appeared to take a swipe at his former bosses The BBC, when the presenter trio revealed there would be no celebrity guests on the third series.

He said: 'The fact of the matter is, when we began on the other channel. Radio communism… many years ago, BBC Corbyn.

'Many years ago it was a British show, it was only really shown in the UK and then it became international and it still is very much international.

'We are much better known in Italy and China than we are here, weirdly. So there’s no point having a guest, like ‘ladies and gentleman it’s howard from the Halifax advert’ because in Urugauy they haven’t got a f****** clue who he is.

'So it seemed to us to be no point persevering with the guest, so that segment has gone. No guests in season three.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
