Adding height to her frame with a pair of nude heels, Saoirse completed the show-stopping look with emerald and silver diamond earrings and a striking red lip.

The Atonement star wore her blonde locks poker straight as she worked her magic in front of the cameras.

The dress was designed by stylist Elizabeth Saltzman who revealed the significance behind the outfit's shimmering detail after last year's Time's Up and #MeToo movements dominated the red carpet.

She told the Hollywood Reporter: 'Last year was such a tumultuous year for so many things.

'There was a lot of negativity, and I kept trying to find the positive. I just said, "I’d like a silver lining".'

After her star turn at the Golden Globes, Saoirse appeared in a pre-recorded interview on ITV's Lorraine alongside her Mary, Queen Of Scots co-star Margot Robbie.

Speaking of her role as Scottish Queen Mary Stuart, Saoirse addressed the longstanding rivalry between Mary and her cousin, Queen Elizabeth I, who is portrayed by Margot in the film.

She told host Lorraine Kelly: 'It’s quite an unusual thing to see two girls in a position of power, and not totally hate each other, they spend most of the film reaching out and trying to work together, but they're kept apart.

'She loved life, she loved her friends and her people, she was so beloved by the Scots.'

Margot underwent a dramatic transformation for her role as Elizabeth, admitting she couldn't animate her face properly with the prosthetics she wore, which came as a benefit for the character.

She said: 'It always helps you can do all the pro work in advance, but it's the thing that tips you over the edge.

'Once I'm in costume the thing I was searching for happens physically, the thing of feeling strained and almost trapped by the facade she creates for herself.

'Even wear prosthetics, I couldn't really animate with my face which is great because she had a stony outside.'

Speaking to Deadline, Saoirse revealed she was warned in her teenage years that as she got older the number of acting roles she got would likely decrease.

She said: 'For me I think it was a slightly different thing because I started when I was young, so there wasn't that pressure.

'But one of the things that I did experience during my teenage years, and every female warned me, "When you get to about 18, the roles just stop and nothing comes in and there will be nothing interesting out there.' And they were right.

'I made the decision to basically not work at all instead of taking something on that I didn't believe in.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
