«Breaking News» Golden Globes: Idris Elba takes selfie with Bond actor Daniel Craig

Idris Elba continued to fuel rumours he could play the next 007 as he jokingly took an 'awkward' selfie with the current James Bond actor, Daniel Craig, during the 76th Annual Golden Globe Awards at California's Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday.

The Luther star, 46, took to Instagram to share a hilarious snap with the current film series actor, 50, who will reprise the role in Bond 25, set to hit cinemas in 2020.

The upcoming movie will mark the Daniel's fifth entry into the franchise, following Casino Royale, Quantum Of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre.

Idris has been a frontrunner to play the character after his impressive performance in the TV series Luther.

Speaking about the possibility of playing the iconic character last year, Idris said: 'I think it’s more about, "We just want to have a black guy play James Bond" rather than, "Idris Elba, the actor, play James Bond." That’s the part I’m like, "Ugh, come on."'

Earlier that evening, screen star Idris proved there's no rivalry with Richard Madden as they shared a sweet hug while the 32-year-old accepted the Best Actor in a Television Drama award for his performance in hit drama Bodyguard.

Showcasing their touching bromance, the London native jumped up to greet Richard with a hug on discovering the impressive achievement.

Richard has also been tipped to replace the current Bond since impressing audiences with his portrayal of steely diplomatic protection officer David Budd in BBC drama Bodyguard.

His bedroom antics with Home Secretary Julia Montague, played by Keeley Hawes, have also helped make him the bookies' favourite.

However, Richard was reluctant to confirm or deny that he was 'in talks' for the popular 007 role when he appeared on America's KTLA 5.

He admitted: 'It's really flattering. Although people make things up - but it is lovely to be involved in the conversation.'

The quip came after heightened reports that the Scottish star is set to be approached about the role by Barbara Broccoli, who has the final say on all Bond characters.

A source said: 'It's seriously looking like he [Madden] is going to get the job. Not only is he on top of Barbara's list, but she is preparing to offer the role.'

Idris Elba's daughter Isan was the 2019 Golden Globe Ambassador, and she seemed right at home both on the stage and the red carpet.

She looked dazzling in a princess-esque embellished tulle gown, which is by Elie Saab. It's one of the best in the business, which is why A-listers like Anne Hathaway and Catherine Zeta Jones also chose the label for last night's awards.

Look how pretty the multicoloured sequins and voluminous skirt are on this black dress, which hails from the Resort '18 collection. Unfortunately that means it has now sold out, but at £6900, that might be a good thing!

So instead, recreate Isan's Hollywood glam look with the help of our edit below. Nobody does embroidery quite like Needle & Thread!

If confirmed, Richard's selection would end a year of speculation as to who will succeed screen star Daniel.

'I told her to keep her back straight,' the British heartthrob joked to E! News ahead of the ceremony.

Speaking about being given the role, Isan previously said: 'I feel honoured to hold this title and use this role to not only further educate people on the work of the HFPA, but also shine a light on issues that I care about.

'Mental health, specifically among African Americans and my peers in particular, is something I really want to be more vocal about.

'There's this perceived stigma and I've seen friends struggle. We need to empower young people to not be afraid to ask for help.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
