«Breaking News» George W. Bush tells Trump and Pelosi to 'end this shutdown' in rare intervention into politics

Former President George W. Bush served up some outside political pressure,  calling on 'both sides' to end the government shutdown as he shared an image of himself serving pizza to Secret Service agents.

Bush generally seeks to avoid getting entangled in day-to-day politics, but decided to jump in to shutdown politics as the partial closure of the federal government hit its 28th day.

He tweeted an image of himself carrying pizza boxes to his detail, and attached a message other leaders to 'put politics aside.'

'@LauraWBush and I are grateful to our Secret Service personnel and the thousands of Federal employees who are working hard for our country without a paycheck,' he wrote.

'And we thank our fellow citizens who are supporting them. It’s time for leaders on both sides to put politics aside, come together, and end this shutdown.'

Bush didn't mention either President Trump, who is demanding $5.7 billion for a border wall, or Demoratic leaders Speaker Nancy Pelosi or Sen. Charles Schumer by name.

As President Bush signed the Secure Fence Act – but also pushed for a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants.

Trump recently stated that a former U.S. president had privately told him they should have built a border wall – but all four living presidents including the office of Bush denied having done so.

'George W. Bush has not discussed the wall with Trump' said spokesman Freddy Ford said this month after Trump's claim that 'some of them have told me that we should have done it.'

Bill promoted but failed to enact a 'comprehensive' immigration plan that would have provided a path to citizenship for an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants, while beefing up Border Patrol and security on the border.

A core hangup to solving the shutdown is the difficulty in finding a traditional split-the-middle solution as is sometimes possible in spending fights.

Trump made a wall a centerpiece of his campaign, and his rallies where he skewered Democrats as favoring 'open borders' and accused them of being pro-crime also featured chants of 'Build the Wall!'

Pelosi has called the wall 'immoral' and has said Trump is pushing for it for personal political reasons, even privately connecting it to his 'manhood.'

A compromise that gave Trump substantial wall funding could easily antagonize Democratic voters who want the president impeached, while if Trump abandoned his demand his base voters could be disappointed.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
