«Breaking News» Dancing On Ice's Matt Evers slams trolls as he stands by Gemma Collins

He is fiercely protective of his Dancing On Ice partner Gemma Collins. 

And Matt Evers didn't hold back on Twitter on Tuesday as he hit out at a troll who said the pair looked like 'giant haystacks in drag' on the ITV launch night. 

It comes after the professional skater, 42, was furious when Love Island's Megan Barton Hanson, whose boyfriend Wes Nelson is starring on the show, called the sequin costumes 'unmanly'.

For their first performance Gemma and Matt made quite the entrance, clad in sparkling gold sequin costumes which were adorned with feathers. 

Hitting back at the trolls unsavoury comments on their attire, the pro skater waspishly wrote: 'Sue... I might be gay and Gemma a woman but because we wear makeup on television and wear gold sequins does NOT warrant a comment like this. I suggest you don’t go there.' 

Matt also slammed a viewer who labelled their explosive performance to Beyonce's Crazy In Love 'embarrassing'.

He wrote: 'Why are you embarrassed by what Gemma has learned? To say she hasn’t learnt a skill is not an opinion as you aren’t an expert of the sport nor a skater yourself. Your opinion would be that you didn’t like her routine.' 

Matt's latest comments come after he hit back at Megan saying Wes would look 'unmanly' in sequins and claimed that there is nothing emasculating about ice skating.

Taking to Twitter, the skater who has appeared in all nine series of the show, said:  'Hmmmm Megan.... don't think picking girls up for a living and wearing Lycra.... is unmanly or cringey.

Matt also slammed a viewer who labelled their explosive performance to Beyonce's Crazy In Love 'embarrassing'

'This show is my career and my passion. It's unfair to criticise this show and the work we are all putting in. There's nothing unmanly about [Dancing On Ice].'

Fans were quick to throw their support behind Matt, who also posted a photograph of himself in sequined Lycra lifting his female partner into the air.  

And his biggest supporters meant Gemma and Matt sailed through on Sunday night, with the TOWIE star, 37, performing the splits in the high impact routine.

The pair scored 16/40, receiving 4.5 from all judges apart from Jason Gardiner who gave her a 2.5. 

Coming off the ice, 'The GC' enthused: 'I made it! I got a bit carried away at the end where I added in a head flip!'

'Did you ever think you weren't going to do this?' asked Holly and Phil. 'Yeah, two minutes before I came out,' Gemma replied.

Matt praised Gemma, saying: 'She gets hate and trolls online and she's never exercised but she absolutely smashed it. She committed to it.'

Judge Ashley Banjo told her: 'You're a ledge! It doesn't matter what they say! You're here, did it!'

But Jason slammed the television personality, saying: 'You talk a big talk but you don't back it up. It was like a French & Saunders parody. Uncomfortable to watch.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
