Alan Halsall ended 2018 on a positive note by going booze-free and turning in before the annual countdown after spending the final night of the year with young daughter Sienna-Rae.
The Coronation Street star shard a snap of himself cradling the daughter he shares with estranged wife Lucy-Jo Hudson as he prepared to close the door on a difficult 12-months.
Looking trim, toned and healthy, Alan, 37, admitted he was having an early night after making the decision to forgo alcohol, telling fans: 'In bed at 10:30 with a green tea and no hangover to worry about in the morning .... best NYE ever. #bringiton2019'

Evidently pleased to be having a sober night in, the actor - best known for his role as hapless car mechanic Tyrone Dobbs - grins while holding Sienna-Rae, five.
The youngster, Alan's only child with former co-star Lucy-Jo, looks delighted as she clings onto her father's neck while sporting a ruffled white dress.
Earlier that day the actor described Sienna-Rae as his 'rock' after sharing his top nine moments of the year with his daughter, also on Instagram.
Captioning the montage, he wrote: 'My beautiful Daughter, If I could give you one thing in life, I would give you the ability to see yourself through my eyes, only then will you realize how special you are to me. Unbeknown to you, you have been my rock this year.'

Sharing a separate top nine highlights, he wrote: 'I won’t deny 2018 has been a tough year for me, however I feel I have learnt so much about myself and this year more than any other has made me realise just how lucky I am to have the support of AMAZING Family & friends both at home & at work, who have been there for me whenever I’ve needed them & now I’m really looking forward to 2019!!'
He added: 'Happy new Year. Thank you to you all.'

However insiders claim that despite forming an 'instant connection,' they remained friends until Lucy-Jo and Alan separated.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
