Netflix's latest hit rom-com isn't just sky-rocketing its young stars to fame - it is also helping to give a serious boost to a much more unlikely candidate: a Japanese probiotic yogurt drink.
During the streaming site's phenomenally-popular original movie To All the Boys I've Loved Before, its lead characters are seen discussing their love of a 'Korean yogurt smoothie' - a tiny bottled beverage that, although not named, looks identical to the products created by Japan-based brand Yakult.
The red-capped drink first makes an appearance during a particularly sweet scene starring on-screen couple Peter Kavinsky, played by actor Noah Centineo, 22, and Lara Jean Covey, played by Lana Condor, 21, and has proven to be almost as popular as the stars themselves - who have both been catapulted to global fame since the movie's August release.
Love: Netflix's latest rom-com, To All The Boys I've Loved Before, has proven its impact since the release on August 17
New favorite: The movie helped sales grow for the Japanese yogurt beverage Yakult after the characters are seen drinking it on screen
Cute: Love interest Peter Kavinksy, played by Noah Centineo, raved about the beverage during the film after trying it for the first time
In the scene, high school jock Peter asked Lara Jean's younger sister if he could try the yogurt drink when he picked the duo up to drive them to school.
He then proceeded to rave about the beverage, thus sealing the fate of it becoming a must-have product for people around the world.
Delicious: The beverage first launched in Japan in the 1930s before expanding to the United Kingdom and the United States in the 1990s
Indeed, despite not actually being named, Bloomberg reports that sales of Yakult have soared by 2.6 per cent in the weeks since the movie's initial release, after beady-eyed fans identified the drink from its distinctive packaging.
But while it may have reached peak popularity in recent weeks, Yakult has actually been available in the United States since 1999 and has always boasted a following of its own.
The probiotic beverage is only 50 calories and made out of water, sugar, skim milk powder, glucose, natural flavors and Lactobacillus casei shirota.
Minoru Shirota, a Japanese scientist, first created the beverage in the 1930s after he figured out how to isolate the bacteria that lived in the large intestines. The product then gained traction in Brazil and other places around the world before landing in the UK and US in the 1990s.
In the past, health reports have stated probiotic drinks such as Yakult may boost the immune system and help the body fight illnesses like a common cold.
For people who never heard of Yakult before To All The Boys I've Loved Before, the probiotic beverage is available in Walmart stores and online through Amazon.
Longtime fan: One person explained how they grew up on Yakult while living in Taiwan
Shocked: Some fans of the beverage couldn't believe people had never heard of it before
Cute: One fan mentioned how they received a pack of the yogurt just like what happened in the teen rom-com
Passionate: Many people took to Twitter to explain how they have long loved the beverage
Popular: One person explained how Yakult is prominent for Asian children while growing up
Yakult became so popular since the movie release on August 17 that it even started trending on Twitter.
One person on Twitter wrote: 'I admit, I bought a couple packs this past month after watching #ToAllTheBoysIveLoveBefore. But I grew up on this stuff in Tawain. It used to get regularly delivered to my home like milk.'
While another person said they had their own romantic moment after their crush gave them the Japanese beverage.
'My crushie really gave me a pack of yakult. My real life Peter Kavinksy,' the woman wrote after seeing the film.
She is referring to an instance later in the film where Peter admits to Lara Jean that he bought her an entire pack of the yogurt because he knew she loved the beverage.
After the report was released of the sales increase, people online expressed their shock that many didn't know about Yakult prior to the movie.
'Did people fr not know about yakult before TATBILB? I'm genuinely surprised,' one person wrote.
The company said it is expecting even higher sales in the coming weeks as the yogurt continues to gain momentum from the movie.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
