A pair of simple black ballet pumps have been crowned the nation's most popular shoe, beating stiff competition from glamorous embellished heels.
Researchers have discovered that Michael Kors Leather Fulton flats are a firm favourite with UK fashionista, receiving the most hashtags on Instagram in a typical week.
Of course, the £90 price tag and simple style that matches most outfits counts a lot towards their popularity.
Working with the Chester Racecourse, researchers looked at Instagram hashtags to find the most popular clothing styles and accessories in the UK.
With more than 28,000 hashtags in a week they beat the nearerst rival - the Valentino Rockstud, which are a firm favourite with celebrities, but only get around 11,000 hashtags.

The Manolo Blahnik Hangisi 70 pumps made famous by Carried in Sex and the City come in third place and cost £775 a pair
Since launching in 2010, Valentino's Rockstud heels have sold out every season, despite costing from around £650 and as much as £1,445 for a highly embellished pair.
The platinum studded heels have become an iconic accessory, worn by everyone from Princess Mary of Denmark to Reese Witherspoon, teamed with everything from casual ripped jeans and shorts to red carpet dresses.
Other styles to make the top ten include Manolo Blahnik's Hangisi pumps, made famous by Sex and the City's Carrie Bradsahw and Chloe's every popular Susanna boots.
Naturally, Christian Louboutin's legendary red-soled Pigalle heels also made the list
Researchers found that the maxi dress is currently the most popular style with more than 3.6 million hastags a week and the preferred colour is classic black with 2.3 million, followed by red with 1.9 million.
When it comes to accessories the Hermes Birkin reigns supreme with four million hastags, while Ray-Ban is the most popular sunglasses brand.
Beauty fans prefer to complement their look with Mac make-up, and treat their skin with products by Murad.

Saint Laurent's £600 Tribute sandals, another A-list favourite, come in at number five with more than 7,5000 Instagram hashtags on a weekly basis

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
