A millionaire YouTuber has opened the doors of his lavish New York City apartment for a photo shoot, showing his viewers just how much his life has changed since he lived in a small house in Connecticut.
Casey Neistat, 37, started making YouTube videos eight years ago and now has more than 10 million subscribers on his channel.
The Connecticut native has lived in New York City for almost 20 years and he now resides with his wife Candice Pool, 40, in a luxurious, $5.5 million apartment in downtown Manhattan.
Crib: Millionaire YouTuber Casey Neistat opened the doors of his $5.5 million New York City apartment to Architectural Digest for a photo shoot
Character: Casey and his wife Candice Pool, 40, wanted to make sure their home would reflect their personalities and didn't want it to turn into a 'white box'
Casey's apartment takes up 2,095 square feet and includes three bedrooms as well as four bathrooms.
Finding calm: Casey (pictured with Candice in 2017) wanted his home to be the 'antithesis' of his chaotic office
The pricey pad is located in a building that offers a pool, a gym, and a parking garage for its residents.
Casey and Candice agreed to have their love nest photographed for a spread in Architectural Digest, showcasing their incredibly chic decor, which was the work of interior designer Daun Curry.
'My home has to be the antithesis of the office,' Casey, whose workspace is based in SoHo, told the magazine.
'The chaos and roughness of the office has to be complemented by the friendliness and homeyness of where I live, which has gotten exponentially easier since Candice and I started living together.'
Casey, who had his first child aged 17 with his high school girlfriend, once worked at a seafood restaurant in Connecticut.
He and his family, he said, lived in a trailer park and were 'really poor', as he recounted in a 2015 video.
The vlogger ended up moving to New York City in June 2001 hoping to become a filmmaker — a dream that has now turned into a reality.
His total net worth is now estimated to be close to $12 million, however no exact figure is known.
In addition to the revenue he gets from his videos, Casey also launched a video-sharing business called Beme a few years ago, which he then sold to CNN for $25 million in November 2016.
CNN and Casey have since parted ways, with Casey giving up his share in the business.

Looking back: Casey shared a photo of the last home he lived in in Connecticut before moving to New York City almost 20 years ago
Art: Inside Casey's apartment is a custom painting by British artist Shantell Martin, seen in this picture of his three-year-old daughter Francine (left) and her friend
Convenient: The pair's apartment is located in a building that offers parking to its residents
Casey, who started making videos with his brother, acquired more visibility when both starred in the 2008 HBO program The Neistat Brothers. The video maker has also directed several commercials, including one for Nike's 'make it count' campaign.
In a video, Casey said he spent the entire budget Nike had given him traveling the world with one of his friends for 10 days, and the footage from their adventures ended up constituting the ad.
Back in December 2017, Casey got to embark on a particularly luxurious experience when he reviewed Emirates' lavish first class suites, private rooms featuring a fully reclining seat, a closet, and a desk that doubles, of course, as a dining table for gourmet meals.
Just six months prior, Casey did a similar review, this time of Lufthansa's first class offerings.
Earlier this year, the YouTuber launched his latest business venture: a space called 368, a space where creators can gather and work.
Family: Casey and Candice, pictured with family on a private plane, are currently expecting their second child together
Career: The vlogger (pictured left with Karlie Kloss and right with Bella Hadid and boxer Anthony Joshua in Instagram snaps) started making YouTube videos eight years ago and now has more than 10 million subscribers on his channel
Vast: Casey's apartment takes up 2,095 square feet in a full-service condominium. The apartment is pictured in file photos before the YouTuber and his family moved in
Going for a swim: The building where Casey's apartment is located offers a pool to its residents
Outdoors: Residents can also enjoy an outdoor terrace in downtown Manhattan without leaving their building
Casey's palatial new interior reflects just how much his life has changed since he arrived to New York City two decades ago.
'I've been in New York for almost 20 years, and I've only just survived in the city,' Casey told Architectural Digest. 'This is the first apartment where I feel like I'm living in New York.'
He and Candice asked their interior designer not to turn the apartment into a 'white box', which was their way of making sure their home would have a personality.
That is why the designer added matte, black paneling on the walls, and had every surface below the window sills painted a deep charcoal gray.
To liven up their living room, the pair added a faux-fur throw and a framed photo of a leopard taken by Caroline Gibello, a South African photographer. Their apartment also features a custom painting by British artist Shantelle Martin, whose pieces were valued between $300 and $70,000 in 2015 according to Forbes.
Entertainment: Casey's buildings also includes a playroom for the younger residents — no doubt a useful amenity for the YouTuber, who has a three-year-old daughter and will soon welcome his third child
Where the magic happens: The apartment (pictured before Casey and his family moved in) includes a home office space located next to the kitchen
A place to stay: Casey's apartment includes three bedrooms; one of them, pictured before the family moved in, has urban views of Manhattan's buildings
Transformation: The apartment (pictured before Casey moved in) once had white walls and wooden cabinets — two elements the family changed while working with their interior designer
Breathtaking: The pricey pad (pictured before Casey and his family moved in) has vast windows opening on sprawling views of the Hudson River in downtown Manhattan
One hallway features wallpaper printed with red leaves, giving more character to the space, and the couple also has an open kitchen framed with charcoal gray cabinets, which contrast with the rest of the white walls.
Casey celebrated the Architectural Digest spread in an Instagram post, in which he also shared a photo of his former small house in Connecticut.
He explained that the photo of his Connecticut house was taken when his son Owen was about two years old, and that the home was the last place he lived before moving to New York City for good.
At the time, Casey said he washed dishes to support his family.
'Did a little photo shoot of our apartment. Hard to explain what living in a place like this means to me...' he wrote.
Back in December 2014, Casey welcomed his second child, a daughter named Francine. He and Candice are now expecting their second child together, with the birth planned for October 2018.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
