«Breaking News» Sportsmail looks at Mino Raiola's most outrageous soundbites to date

Agent Mino Raiola has a talent stable of 66 clients, representing the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The 50-year-old stands by his clients with his latest defence of one of his players coming last Sunday.

He hit back at former Italy manager Arrigo Sacchi following his hard-hitting criticism of Mario Balotelli's performance in Italy's 1-1 draw with Poland in the UEFA Nations League last Friday.

Here, Sportsmail looks at Raiola's most outrageous soundbites to date.

Launches stern defence of Mario Balotelli

Sacchi told Radio Deejay that Balotelli is lacking 'intelligence' as he tore into the Azzurri's performance against Poland.

'Intelligence isn't only necessary in football, but also in life,' Raiola told Adnkronos news agency.

'With his words, Sacchi clearly showed he has no intelligence or class.

'After Milan, he didn't win anywhere else and has no right to be giving lectures. After all, what he said about Mario confirms what people have said about Sacchi for a long time: he's finished. He's just pitiful now.'

Blistering attack on Paul Scholes

Raiola hit back at Paul Scholes over his comments following Manchester United's defeat by Brighton on August 19.

'There's a lack of leaders in the team,' Scholes told Optus Sport. 'We thought Paul Pogba might be the ideal candidate to be that leader but he wasn't there today. He had another really poor game. He's so inconsistent.

'Pogba's playing the ball out of play, he's overhitting passes, he's hitting passes short, he's getting caught in possession.'

Raiola wrote on Twitter: 'Some people need to talk for fear of being forgotten. Paul Scholes wouldn't recognize a leader if he was in front of Sir Winston Churchill.

'Paul Scholes should become sports director and advise Woodward to sell Pogba. Would be sleepless nights to find Pogba a new club.'

Pep Guardiola 'is a zero'

In an interview with Dutch magazine Quote, Raiola said: 'Pep Guardiola? As a trainer he is fantastic, as a man, he is a zero.

'He is a classical priest: do what I say, not what I do. If Manchester City win the Champions League this season it will emphasise what a good coach he is – but I'll hate it.'

Raiola launched the incredible verbal assault on Guardiola in March in the latest in a long-running feud between the pair.

The Italian-born Dutch agent has disliked Guardiola since he forced Zlatan Ibrahimovic out of Barcelona in 2011.

Sir Alex Ferguson 'still doesn't have a clue who Paul Pogba is'

In his book Leading, Sir Alex Ferguson blamed Raiola for Pogba's Red Devils departure in 2012.

'Those words don't describe my work in a negative way,' Raiola told Tuttosport. 'I rate them as a proof that I am good at my job.

'I have to do what's best for my players' sake. If I had looked only at my immediate gain, I would have kept Pogba in Manchester.

'But I put Pogba's interests first and we decided to go to Turin. Maybe Ferguson only likes those who obey him. From his quotes, I understand that Ferguson still doesn't have a clue who Pogba really is.

'Ferguson was an excellent manager, but the greatest managers can be wrong sometimes.'

MINO'S MINIONS

Mino Raiola's footballer clients include:

  • Paul Pogba

  • Romelu Lukaku

  • Marco Verratti

  • Gianluigi Donnarumma

  • Henrikh Mkhitaryan

  • Mario Balotelli

  • Blaise Matuidi

  • Zlatan Ibrahimovic

  • Justin Kluivert

  • Maxwell

He was unhappy with the decision to leave Balotelli out for the friendlies against Argentina and England in March.

'We're disappointed with the failure to call-up Balotelli,' Raiola told Radio 24.

'We're even more disappointed with the explanation we received, publicly because we haven't spoken to anyone.

'If [Luigi] Di Biagio says that numbers don't count for a striker then the national team is closed for players like him.

'The problem isn't the coach - it's the football system. We have a federation that works without a plan, an idea for the future.

'The national team should be represented by the best, so if the best don't go then we don't understand the criteria.'

Launches tirade of insults at Manchester City boss Guardiola

'Guardiola? He doesn't have the balls to sit down and talk to me and I don't like that,' Raiola said in an interview with Cadena Cope. 'Everyone knows what happened with Zlatan.

'It's not that I hate him, but I don't like him. He's a good coach but his football bores me.'

Raiola was speaking ahead of Manchester City's derby with Manchester United in September 2016.

Jurgen Klopp was like 'a piece of s***' to Balotelli

Balotelli returned to Liverpool in the summer of 2016 following a largely unsuccessful loan at AC Milan, but moved to French side Nice on transfer deadline day after Jurgen Klopp made it clear he had no future at the club.

'In the end, the higher-ups at Liverpool admitted that Klopp was wrong (to send Balotelli to train with the reserves),' Raiola told Gazzetta dello Sport.

'I'm not trying to judge him as a coach - although, for me, he's not a good coach - but he didn't understand that Balotelli is, whatever else, a person.

'Mario has been exemplary. He never complained about training alone. To say that it was wrong of Klopp would be an understatement; he was a piece of s*** about it.'

Paul Pogba and Toni Kroos

Toni Kroos' brother, Felix, claimed that Real Madrid's deep-lying playmaker was worth £95million (€120m) plus Juventus ace Pogba, and is the greatest player on the planet in his position in 2016.

'[Pogba] is worth what the market offers. If I were Real Madrid, I'd sell [Kroos] and buy a new team, really. I'm not the person who decides the value of a player. His value is decided by whoever buys him,' Raiola told Marca.

Raiola calls FIFA 'a disgrace'

'I have been criticising FIFA for years, so it's time to act on it. I've had enough of how Blatter and Fifa have been treating the game. It makes me sick just thinking about it that Blatter is re-elected,' Raiola told Dutch magazine VI

'FIFA should be there for the fans, professional players and amateur players, but they don't do anything for these three groups.

'How dare you organise a World Cup in South Africa and then ask €150 for a ticket? It's a disgrace.

'It's incomprehensible that some FAs still vote for Blatter. If people vote Blatter, they vote North Korea, if they vote me, they vote South Korea.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
