A shackled woman captured on surveillance cameras ringing doorbells after fleeing her home when her boyfriend raped her says he left her a suicide note saying he would never have killed her.
The woman, only identified as Lauren, was caught on CCTV frantically ringing her neighbors' doorbells in Montgomery, Texas, on August 24 in the middle of the night.
Her boyfriend Dennis Ray Collins, 49, killed himself just days after the incident when the surveillance video of Lauren wearing just a t-shirt with shackles on her hands was released by police in a bid to track her down.
Lauren revealed to Inside Edition that Collins had left her a suicide note when police started to close in on him.
'I never would've killed you as you thought,' he wrote. 'I'm sorry for what I've done and I wish I could turn back time. Love Dennis. Yes, love. I'm sorry.'

Despite being gagged and raped by Collins, Lauren said she did feel some guilt about her boyfriend's suicide.
She believes the footage of her ringing doorbells may have saved her life.
Her boyfriend Dennis Ray Collins, 49, fatally shot himself after the footage of Lauren wearing just a t-shirt with shackles on her hands went viral
'I worry that if this video didn't come out, and if he were not gone, that I eventually would be,' she said.
Lauren also revealed the traumatic events that led to her fleeing the home and desperately ringing random doorbells in the neighborhood in a bid to get help.
She was sleeping at the time at their home but woke to find him 'kneeling on my chest and stuffing some sort of cloths in my mouth, duct taping my entire head'.
'I truly felt like when that was happening, like, I was going to die there that night. There was nothing behind his eyes, it scared me and I didn’t feel like it was the person I knew.'
Lauren said her hands and feet were bound when her boyfriend raped her.
She eventually managed to escape through the front door after begging Collins to let her get a drink of water because her throat hurt from screaming so much.
Lauren was identified after Collins' ex-wife recognized her in the surveillance video and called police.

Lauren was caught on CCTV frantically ringing her neighbors' doorbells after her boyfriend Dennis Ray Collins sexually abused her
'She was adamant it was the girlfriend in the video,' Montgomery County Sheriff's Department Lt Scott Spencer said. 'She had met her before.'
The ex-wife had said she was worried because Collins had texted her threatening to commit suicide.
Authorities said it was clear that Collins was upset by the video that had circulated widely online.
Officers had to force their way into Collins' home and found him dead from a single gunshot wound in a bedroom.
Collins had previously pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted sexual assault, a felony, in 2000 and was given five years probation.

If Collins was still alive, authorities said he would have faced serious charges including kidnapping, unlawful restraint, and sexual assault.
Despite the traumatizing experience, Lauren said earlier this month that she forgave Collins and still loved him.
'Dennis, I believe in my heart, that's not who he truly is, so it hurts me to see him bashed online,' she told KTRK.
'It is truly difficult to understand the duality that exists within each of us. People would like to paint Dennis or myself as entirely good or entirely evil, light or dark, every human has both of these inside.'
'It is hard to understand how someone who treated me with such kindness is the person I saw that night.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
