«Breaking News» Raiola launches defence of Balotelli after striker is accused of lacking intelligence by Sacchi

Mino Raiola has hit back at Arrigo Sacchi following his hard-hitting criticism of Mario Balotelli.

Sacchi slammed the Nice striker after he was jeered off the pitch following his sluggish performance in Italy's 1-1 draw with Poland in the UEFA Nations League.

Former Italy manager Sacchi told Radio Deejay that Balotelli is lacking 'intelligence' as he tore into the Azzurri's performance against Poland on Friday.

And Balotelli's agent Raiola has launched a stern defence of his player by claiming Sacchi has 'no intelligence or class' despite success with his great AC Milan side.

Sacchi's Milan won one Serie A, two consecutive European Cups, two European Super Cups, two Intercontinental Cups and an Italian Super Cup in the period from 1987-90.

'Intelligence isn't only necessary in football, but also in life,' Raiola told Adnkronos news agency.

'With his words, Sacchi clearly showed he has no intelligence or class.

'I don't understand why we are listening to someone who is living on past glories and taking the credit for leading a Milan side that was so strong it would've won without a Coach.

'Sacchi just has to thank (then Milan President Silvio) Berlusconi and think of the World Cup Final he lost with an Italy side that should've won that trophy.

'After Milan, he didn't win anywhere else and has no right to be giving lectures. After all, what he said about Mario confirms what people have said about Sacchi for a long time: he's finished. He's just pitiful now.'

This verbal shot from Raiola came after Sacchi criticised Italy's performance against Poland, who exited the World Cup this summer in the group stage.

'I'd say that it's a team sport. You need only a few ideas in football, but they have to be clear,' Sacchi told Radio Deejay.

'Football is about the collective and intelligence counts more than your feet. So first and foremost, I'd choose players who have intelligence.

'You need players who are generous, passionate, professional. Everyone has a car, but you need fuel to make it move and in football that fuel is intelligence, passion and professionalism.

'Let's just say that having the concept of team spirit is a strong start to making you a worthy person.

'When Balotelli wanders around by himself and doesn't even attempt to stick to the plan, what are you supposed to say to him?'

Meanwhile, former Premier League striker Balotelli posted an inspirational message onto his Instagram story on Sunday while the row continues to rumble on.

Balotelli's message read: 'Good morning... don't ruin a good day by thinking about a bad yesterday. Let it go. I am strong and you?'

Former Italy manager Sacchi...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
