«Breaking News» Piers Morgan gives £100 cheque to Love Island presenter Iain Stirling

He's not been one to mince his words when it comes to the TV phenomenon that is Love Island.

But Piers Morgan was forced to admit defeat on Monday's Good Morning Britain, handing over a cheque for £100 to Love Island presenter Iain Stirling after losing a 2017 bet.

A year ago while interviewing Stirling, Piers predicted none of the couples from the 2017 series of Love Island would still be together 12 months on.

Love Island fanatic and the show's voice-over artist Iain launched a passionate defence of the matchmaking show, betting Piers at least one couple would make it a year.

On Monday's GMB Piers was told that 2017 runners up Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt are still together, meaning he was forced to pay up.

He made light of his loss though, presenting a delighted Iain with a comedy cheque from 'the bank of Piers Morgan', as he told the Scottish star:  'As a man who honours his bets and debts, here's £100,' before quipping: 'Or as I call it, 20 seconds' work!'

Camilla and Jamie are the only 2017 couple still in a relationship with the other finalists, winners Amber Davies and Kem Cetinay and third-place Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood - all splitting after the ITVBe show ended.

During both the 2017 and 2018 series of Love Island, Piers has been outspoken about his disdain for the contestant, declaring during this summer's show:

'I want to criminalise these idiots from being idiots on national TV. I don't care if it's a top-rating show, it doesn’t make it a force for good.’

A year ago while ...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
