«Breaking News» PICTURED: The 'unlucky-in-love' mother killed in suburban Perth massacre alongside her daughters

The woman found dead alongside her daughters - a three-year-old and two-year-old twins - and the girls' grandmother has been remembered as a loving mum.

Detectives found the bodies of Mara Harvey, 47, her daughters Charlotte, Alice and Beatrix, and her mother Beverley Quinn, 74, in their home in Bedford, Perth, on Sunday.

After receiving information from a man in his 20s who attended a police station hundreds of kilometres away, police arrived to find the television still on.

Ms Harvey, who owned the property on Coode Street, in the city's north-east, has been described as 'unlucky in love', and her husband Anthony was 18-years her junior.

The couple lived together in the small brick house, and had the first of their three children a year after Mr Harvey proposed in 2014.

Both had worked for a Sino Steel Pilbara mine, and Mr Harvey then started his own business using income generated from the sales of some of Ms Harvey's properties.

'She was pretty unlucky in love before she met him,' a friend told WA Today.

'So [when she met Mr Harvey] it was like "Yay, now she gets to start a family".'

Another friend said she was a loving mother, a 'beautiful person' and a hardworking 'go-getter'.

Rebecca Della, who lives next door with her partner Richard, told Daily Mail Australia there was no sign of anything wrong.

'Even the week before they seemed happy and cheerful, I never heard them have any fights,' she said.

'They were quiet except for their kids always playing in the backyard, we never expected anything was wrong.'

Ms Della said Richard went over to the house a few times to see Mr Harvey and they seemed happy.

'I guess it's always the ones you least expect.'

She wondered if Mr Harvey's landscaping business had fallen on hard times and caused him stress he was bottling up.

Another neighbour, Doug Robertson, said the family was quiet and kept to themselves.

'We're all shocked, no one thought something like this would happen with them.'

Located on a large corner block in the city's north-east, Ms Harvey bought the modest three-bedroom home in 2008.

'The man currently assisting police remains in custody, no charges have been laid at this time,' police said.

It is believed the man, who presented at Karratha Police Station in regional Western Australia was known to the victims, although this has yet to be confirmed.

Police have not said how the women and children died, and it's still to be determined how long the bodies had been there.

Homicide detectives and specialist forensic police will on Monday continue to comb the home for evidence and clues to what happened after the shocking discovery on Sunday.

'Depending on the size of that crime scene that will take a period of time, and it could be a number of days,' Assistant Commissioner Metropolitan Region Paul Steel said.

'It is a tragic thing when incidents like this occur. It does send a ripple through the community of Western Australia.'

Police have not said how the women and children died and it's still to be determined how long the bodies had been there.

Horrified residents said the victims seemed like 'a normal, happy family'.

'It's just so sad, they've got young kids - it's horrific on every level' neighbour Maria Manfredini told WA Today.
'It's just so sad, they've got primary school aged kids and I thought it just couldn't be,' a neighbour said.

Coode Street resident Vagner D'Souza told ABC News the incident had taken the street by surprise.

'They just seemed like a normal family, you would never imagine anything like this happening here,' Mr D'Souza said.

Neighbours told reporters that they had not seen the family in at least seven days.

'We thought they were on holiday, they haven't been there all week,' Desrae Cambos told 7 News.

Ms Cambos said the family's father ran a lawnmowing and landscaping business and she had not seen his work ute outside the premises for some days.

The tragedy comes after a 19-year-old man was charged with murdering an eight-year-old boy, a 15-year-old girl and their mother at Ellenbrook in July.

At the time of the incident, Mr Steel said it was 'potentially the most horrific crime scene he has ever been called to'.

In July, four children and three adults were found dead at a Western Australia property in Osmington, in Australia's worst mass shooting since the 1996 Port Arthur massacre.

The bodies of Peter Miles, 61, his 58-year-old wife Cynda, their daughter Katrina, 35, and her four autistic children with estranged partner Aaron Cockman - Taye, 13, Rylan, 12, Arye, 10, and Kadyn Cockman, 8 - were found at the Miles residence.

Three firearms were located at the scene belonging to grandfather Peter Miles.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
