Actor Michael Rapaport is suing Barstool Sports, its president and two on-air personalities, alleging defamation for tweets and a tee shirt design that he said imply that he has herpes.
Rapaport, 48, used to work with the company but was fired in February after tweeting an insult at a super fan of the site, saying those who call themselves 'stoolies' have 'already lost in life.'
Barstool Sports' president David Portnoy responded in a statement to TMZ, calling Rapaport 'an unhinged lunatic.'
'Michael Rapaport is a loser,' Portnoy said. 'There is nothing worse than somebody who claims to be the king of trash talk and then cries when people respond in kind.'
Portnoy is personally named in the lawsuit, along with staff members, Adam Smith ('Smitty') and Kevin Clancy ('KFC').

The Higher Learning star's lawsuit claims Barstool Sports staff called him a 'herpe having, race baiting, D-list actor' and 'old crusty herpe.'
He alleges this amounts to defamation because he 'does not suffer from herpes,' and Rapaport is seeking unspecified damages on that claim.
The lawsuit also includes a breach of contract claim, asserting that his firing was unlawful. Rapaport claims that Barstool failed to pay him 'hundreds of thousands of dollars' that he said is owed to him, TMZ reported.

Rapaport hosted his popular podcast, 'I Am Rapaport,' under the Barstool Sports brand up until February.
He was promptly fired following an exchange he had with a fan of the site who called him out after Rapaport got into an online feud with another employee, who goes by 'Smitty.'
Rapaport was questioning whether Smitty was on performance enhancing drugs when he won a boxing match against Shaun Latham, also known as '$20 Chef.'

He tweeted some derivative of, 'Ask @SmittyBarstool if he’s on JUICE right he loves talking to his "fans,"' a total of 91 times during and after the February 16 event, according to a recap by Barstool Sports.
To one of those tweets, Smitty replied to Rapaport:
'Jesus Christ you're a loser. I'm done with losers. Ask LPres. Now pay me my $2K fantasy football money you owe me you fraud.'

Then, a Twitter user whose name is listed as Blake Baker wrote this:
'Can you start a pole asking stoolies if they like @MichaelRapaport . I think that may shut him up.'
That's when Rapaport replied, 'If you call yourself a f***ing stoolie for real, you've already lost in life.'
Portnoy was not amused, and almost immediately ended Barstool Sports' relationship with Rapaport, telling TMZ at the time that 'it was very personal, and 'very real.'
'Idon't have necessarily any hard feelings for him,' he said in February.
'It's just, if you're going to insult our entire fanbase and people who like Barstool, it doesn't make much sense necessarily for these same people to be paying your bills and supporting your podcast ... it just makes no sense.'

'Hey @MichaelRapaport, you want damages? Come and f***ing get 'em, you fraud hack of a coward,' Smitty wrote in response to being named in Rapaport's lawsuit

Smitty responded to the suit on Twitter, and in a post on Barstool Sports, with a series of profanity-laden challenges.

'It was probably pretty much contained to a Barstool thing and now the whole world is talking about it.'

Portnoy seemed to think the notion that he had played any part in damaging Rapaport's reputation was laughable.
'Unfortunately as much I’d love to take credit for ruining his career he did it to himself by being an unhinged lunatic,' Portnoy said.
'We wish him nothing but the best as he fades into oblivion.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
