«Breaking News» Matthew Rhys thanks partner Keri Russell as he wins first Emmy Award for final season of Americans

After six seasons, The Americans finally wrapped back in May.

Matthew Rhys has been nominated for three Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his work on the series, and on Monday night, he finally scored his first win.

It's been a wild ride for the 43-year-old actor who took to the stage to accept his trophy and thanked his co-star and partner Keri Russell, 42.

Rhys, who wore a custom Rag & Bone tuxedo to the event, was effusive as he thanked the cast and crew of the show, before heaping praise on his wife.

'To the woman who truly got me this award, who just stands in front of me every day and puts up with me... She said, 'If you propose to me I will punch you clean in the mouth,' I don't have the words, I don't have the time, none of which do you justice...more to come, thank you,' he said to Keri.

Earlier in the night, Oscars director Glenn Weiss proposed to his girlfriend on stage... she said, 'yes.'

On the red carpet, Keri opted to go out in a blaze of beauty, showing off her long legs and a hint of cleavage in an intricate Zuhair Murad Couture skirt and jacket.

The jacket was emblazoned with shimmering sequins and featured a plunging neckline.

The skirt was made up of two layers, the top formed out of feathers and a sheer, long piece underneath.

She parted her hair just right of center and let her brown and gold tresses tumble freely across her shoulders, and glamorous Stephen Webster earrings dangled from her ears.

Rhys, meanwhile, kept things classy in a black tuxedo, and combed his dark locks straight back.

It’s been a wild ride for the 43...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
