«Breaking News» The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel scoops top Emmy honors along with GoT

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel won big at Monday night's Emmy Awards.


Lead Rachel Brosnahan was brought to tears while accepting her first ever Primetime Emmy Award earlier on during the event at LA's Microsoft theater.


The Amy Sherman-Palladino created show on Amazon Prime earned honors in top categories, also taking home Outstanding Supporting Actress, Outstanding Directing For A Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing For A Comedy Series.

The show was also nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series for Tony Shalhoub  


Rachel became emotional as she accepted the Outstanding Lead Actress honor for the Amazon Prime show.

'Wow. Thank you guys so much. Hi,' the 27-year-old talent told audiences while holding back tears, 'My friends and my family, you are absolutely everything to me.'


It was a bittersweet moment for the star, who lost fashion designer aunt Kate Spade to suicide in June.


Spade was 55 when she passed away in her New York City apartment.

Paying tribute to creators Dan Palladino and Amy Sherman-Palladino, she said: 'I'll be thanking you for the rest of my life for trusting me with your Midge.'


Rachel also used her acceptance speech to urge viewers to go out and vote.


She said: 'One of the things I love the most about this show while I have you captive for another two seconds, it's about a woman who is finding her voice anew.


'It's something that's happening all over the country right now. One of the most important ways that we can find and use our voices is to vote.

The Amazon show also scooped up the prestigious Outstanding Comedy Series - beating the likes of Atlanta, Barry, Black-ish, Curb Your Enthusiasm, GLOW, Silicon Valley and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.


Creator Amy made history as the first woman to win the prizes for Writing and Directing a comedy series.

She then added: 'It takes a giant village full of union crew members to make sure that Maisel goes out on the streets of New York and takes your parking spaces away from you.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
