«Breaking News» Manchester United and Manchester City set for £60m Ruben Neves battle

Manchester United and Manchester City are set to embark on a £60million battle to land Wolves star Ruben Neves in January.

Reports last month suggested Pep Guardiola had been keeping tabs on the Portuguese midfielder as he looks to add cover to his midfield in the winter window.

And now, according to The Sun, Jose Mourinho is preparing to enter a tussle with United's bitter rivals in a bid to bring him to Old Trafford.

Guardiola is keen on a move for Neves as he looks to bolster his midfield numbers after a move for Jorginho collapsed in the summer, with the Italian going on to join Chelsea.

That has led to a short supply of defensive midfielders with Fernandinho the only first-team player trusted with anchoring the midfield at the Etihad Stadium.

Mourinho is said to have followed Neves' progress with a keen eye as well and was willing to wait to see how he coped with the Premier League before making his move.

Neves also shares Mourinho’s agent, Jorge Mendes, which could become a decisive factor in any deal.

Wolves’ rich owners will not want to lose their prize asset though, especially in January when it would be tough to bring in an adequate replacement as they try to establish themselves in the top flight.

The tussle for the player's signature comes after the two Manchester clubs also went head-to-head to land Alexis Sanchez last winter. The Chilean eventually moved to Old Trafford.

Neves joined Wolves from Portuguese giants Porto in a deal worth around £16m in 2017 before playing a crucial role in their promotion to the Premier League.

He has already shown his class in this campaign with a delightful free-kick against Everton on the opening day. The 21-year-old also has one assist in four appearances.

And now, ...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
