«Breaking News» Jeff Flake blasts Don Jr. for mocking Brett Kavanaugh's sex-assault accuser while she was anonymous

A Republican senator lashed out Wednesday against Donald Trump Jr. for a weekend Instagram post mocking the woman at the center of this year's Supreme Court nomination fight.

On Saturday the president's son posted a crayon-drawn note poking fun at a woman who had accused Judge Brett Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her when they were teens.

Trump Jr.'s artwork read: 'Hi Cindy will you be my girlfreind [sic],' with check-boxes next to 'yes' and 'no' options.

It ended: 'Love Bret.'

Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake tweeted on Wednesday: 'This is sickening. No one should make light of this situation.'

Donald Trump Jr. posted a graphic Saturday on Instagram that belittled a then-anonymous sexual assault accused of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, and four days later a Republican senator clobbered him for it on Twitter

President Trump's son (left) disseminated an image of a make-believe note from a young boy to a young girl, asking her to be his girlfriend, and attributing it to Kavanaugh; at the time Sen. Dianne Feinstein, a California Democrat, was keeping accuser Christine Ford's name a secret – leading some conservatives to hint that she and her accusations might not be real

Flake is a persistent critic of President Trump and a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which is vetting Kavanaugh's nomination for a lifetime post on America's highest court.

He has expressed reluctance about supporting the nomination without hearing from his accuser on Capitol Hill.

A source close to the president's son said Wednesday that he did not create the image, and that he wasn't mocking Christine Blasey Ford, the accuser who has turned Washington inside out in the past week.

Ford was maintaining her anonymity at the time the posting went up on Saturday, and Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein was still keeping a letter containing her allegations under wraps.

Ford revealed her identity on Sunday in a Washington Post interview.

Trump Jr. described his artwork on Instagram with the caption: 'Judge Kavanaugh's sexual assault letter found by Dems...'

The president's son joked on Instagram that 'the Dems and their usual nonsense games really have him on the ropes now,' speaking of Judge Kavanaugh – and his opponents pounced

The source pointed out that 'Cindy' in the scrawled note indicates that Trump Jr. was trying to lampoon Feinstein for refusing to identify Ford publicly and holding her letter through Kavanaugh's confirmation hearings for 11th-hour dramatic effect.

Feinstein, Trump Jr. wrote on Instagram, 'had the letter in July and saved it for the eve of his vote... honorable as always. I believe this is a copy for full transparency.'

Ford, now 51, claims a 17-year-old Kavanaugh pinned her down on a bed at a party when she was 15, covered her mouth, groped her and tried to remove her clothing.

She also says Kavanaugh's friend at the time, Mark Judge, cranked up music in the locked room so her cries of protest couldn't be heard.

Both men have denied being in any such situation.

A schoolmate of Ford came forward Wednesday on Twitter to corroborate her story, saying that the sexual misconduct 'was spoken about for days afterwards in school.'

Ford told The Washington Post that she had told no one about the incident until she attended therapy sessions with her husband in 2010, thirty years later.

And Ford's lawyer told NPR this week that the party occurred in the summertime.

Ford has not yet signaled whether she will accept Judiciary Committee Republicans' invitation to testify about her claims in a hearing next Monday.

President Trump said Wednesday that her performance in that hearing could determine whether he stands by his embattled nominee.

'Look, if she shows up and makes a credible showing that'll be very interesting,' Trump told reporters at the White House, 'and we'll have to make a decision.'

'But I can only say this: he is such an outstanding man. Very hard for me to imagine that anything happened.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
