«Breaking News» James Corden gets slapped in the face and recites Drake lyrics during hilarious Late Late Show skit

His hit American talk show is known for its side-splitting skits with an array of A-list guests.

And James Corden didn't disappoint his fans on Wednesday night when he performed a hilarious sketch opposite Kaley Cuoco and Joel McHale using only lyrics from rapper Drake's songs.

The trio were good sports as they took part in a spoof of an American soap opera named The Bold & The Lyrically on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

Placing the scene in a hospital, Community star Joe, 46, dressed in an oversized leather jacket as he cared for Kaley, 32, who was dressed in a patient gown, while James, 40, undertook the role of a doctor.

Reciting Drake's 2009 song Best I Ever Had, the actor uttered to Kaley: 'You my everything, you're all that I ever wanted. We can do it real big, bigger then you ever done it.

To which, the Big Bang Theory star responded with a lyrics from the Canadian hitmaker's song One Dance: 'Higher powers have taken a hold on me' as she fell onto the hospital bed in mock pain.

Coming to her aid, James, who was clad in a doctor's white coat, rushed towards the defibrillator to send a faux shock to her system while delivering a line from Drake's Hotline Bling like a Shakespearean soliloquy.

He said in a panic: 'I know when that hotline bling, that can only mean one thing.' Which a bereft Joel added: 'I pray, I pray, God's plan.'

The trio continued to cause hilarity as they delivered other lyrics from Drake's 0 to 100 / The Catch Up, Blessings, Just Hold On We're Going Home and his latest hit In My Feelings.

The rib-tickling sketch comes after James unfortunately missed out on the Best Variety Talk Series Award to Last Week Tonight with John Oliver at the 70th Annual Emmys in Los Angeles on Monday.

James was also on hand to present the coveted Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series, Movie, or Dramatic Special Award to Ryan Murphy for his acclaimed series The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.

James and Julia married 2012, and went on to welcome Max, six, Carey, three, and baby daughter Charlotte, born in December.

While the couple are British, the family currently reside in LA, where they relocated for James' hosting role on the Late Late Show.

The actor has since hit the big time in the States, and has reportedly agreed to another four years of the chat show in a £15million deal.

Talking on ITV's Lorraine last year, James said he owes all of his success to Julia - who agreed to make the move stateside at a chaotic time.

He said: 'All credit to my wife, who agreed to move when our daughter [Carey] was five weeks old and our son [Max] was three.

'It was a massive undertaking. I work so hard in the week and then at the weekend, you click your fingers and it's like you are in the South Of France.'

The ...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
