A Texas great-grandmother has killed a 12-foot alligator with a single shot after it ate her miniature horse.
Judy Cochran took down the 580-pound gator on Sunday at her ranch in Goodrich, Texas.
The 73-year-old said she had been after the alligator because she suspected it had devoured her miniature horse.

'We think this is the gator that ate one of our miniature horses several years ago. As big as this gator was, he could've easily eaten it,' she told the Houston Chronicle.
'Typically the gators don't bother us but we've been looking for (this one).
'Don't mess with Nana.'
The pond is the same spot where Cochran's grandson shot dead a gator nine years ago when he was just five years old.
Cochran, who became the Mayor of Livingston in May, insisted the hunt was ethical.
Polk County, where she lives, is one of 12 in Texas with a season for hunting gators.

The season is limited to between September 10 and 30 and hunters need permits and tags from a wildlife biologist.
The gator must also be caught on a hook first before it can be killed.
Cochran was in a meeting when her son-in-law called to say they had caught the gator on a hook using a raccoon as bait.

Cochran plans to mount the head and display the ridge-back part of the tail in her office.
Her family will also eat the gator meat and they'll use the hide tanned to make several pairs of boots.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
