«Breaking News» Dick Van Dyke, 92, sends fans wild as Mary Poppins Returns trailer reveals he has barely changed

The second trailer for Mary Poppins Returns was released on Monday - causing a buzz of excitement.

And it was the original film's star Dick Van Dyke that captured the attention of viewers as he was seen reprising a similar role.

Now playing the son of Mr. Dawes, the character he initially portrayed in the 1964 hit, the 92-year-old looks virtually the same.

The actor can be seen having the time of his life as he dances on a desk, just like he did 53 years ago.

Sporting a formal looking suit along with a full grey beard, the actor appears at the end of the new trailer, dancing in front of Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins and Lin-Manuel Miranda as the lamplighter Jack.

Viewers were left in tears after seeing Dick Van Dyke's return, with one writing: 'Dick Van Dyke is now fully Mr Dawes, I’m crying!’

They are captured going through some of their old childhood things, including a kite.

As they fly the toy, the clouds literally part and Mary Poppins descends to Earth from the heavens, shocking Michael and Jane with her sudden return.

They even poke fun at how Poppins seemingly hasn't aged a bit, which is met with a curt response from the character, telling Michael that he should never discuss a woman's age.

When Jane asks what has brought her back, Poppins states that she has come to "look over the Banks children" once again, not only Michael and Jane, but also Michael's kids Georgie and Annabel (Pixie Davies).

The Banks family has seen better days, with Michael revealing that they are about to lose their home, while his kids clearly miss their mother who has seemingly passed away.

The trailer also offers a brief glimpse at some of the musical song-and-dance numbers, with music by Marc Shaiman and songs by Shaiman and Scott Wittman.

The original Mary Poppins hit theaters in 1964, starring Julie Andrews as the title character and Dick Van Dyke as the chimney sweep Burt.

The story was thrust into the spotlight a few years ago as well when Disney released Saving Mr. Banks, following Walt Disney (Tom Hanks) trying to convince author P.L. Travers (Emma Thompson) to adapt her beloved story.

Now a whole new generation can experience the magic of Mary Poppins this Christmas when Mary Poppins Returns hits theaters.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
