«Breaking News» Cristiano Ronaldo relaxes on a luxurious boat during holiday while Portugal stars graft in training

Cristiano Ronaldo is kicking back and taking it easy in the midst of Portugal's preparations for their UEFA Nations League opener with Italy.

Ronaldo opted to skip international duty in a bid to work on his fitness after missing much of pre-season, but was pictured relaxing on a luxurious boat while on holiday in the Mediterranean with his partner Georgina Rodriguez and son Cristiano Jnr.

The 33-year-old has taken part in several training sessions with Juventus this week but has seemingly been enjoying his downtime as well away football.

While his international team-mates were put through their paces over the weekend ahead of the crunch clash against Italy, Ronaldo was topping up his tan and showing off his impressive abs.

Ronaldo shared the topless snap of him soaking up the sun on his Instagram account while his partner Rodriguez shared a heartwarming picture of the two of them on a small boat with their son Cristiano, as well as a picture of herself sat at an electronic gaming machine in a casino. 

In stark contrast to Ronaldo's relaxing break, Portugal's stars were seen looking hot and bothered while training at the Stadium of Light in Lisbon.

Fernando Santos is busy preparing his troops for Monday evening's game against Italy as they look to get back to winning ways after drawing with Croatia in a friendly earlier this week.

Portugal, meanwhile, were put through their paces on Sunday ahead of their game with Italy

Boss Fernando Santos has not begrudged Ronaldo for opting to skip international duty

Portugal's stars, including Manchester City's Bernardo Silva and Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches, appeared to be feeling the effects of Sunday's training session and looked physically drained come the end of it.

Santos' men are heavily reliant upon Ronaldo, but the manager did not begrudge his star man for choosing to sit out of this month's international matches. 

He said: 'After talking to the player, and after he moved to Juventus with all the processes of adaptation that entails, we understand it was best for him to not be present for these games.'

Ronaldo, who also enjoyed a relaxed trip to Sardinia last week, will be aiming to get himself firing fit in time for Juventus' match against Sassuolo next Sunday as he looks to break his goal-scoring duck for his new club.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
