«Breaking News» Son of former Guinean president convicted of enslaving girl in Texas

The son of a former president of Guinea has been convicted with his wife of enslaving a girl in their Texas home for 16 years after bringing her over from an African village.

Jurors found Mohamed Toure and Denise Cros-Toure guilty on Thursday of forced labor, conspiracy to harbor an alien for financial gain and harboring an alien for financial gain.

The wealthy Guinean aristocrats, both in their late 50s, arranged for Djena Diallo to be shipped to America 18 years ago when she was just five-years-old.

Diallo was forced to cook, garden, clean, paint and take care of the Toure's five children, the federal court in the suburbs of Dallas heard.

Diallo told jurors that although she was a similar age to the children, the Toure's denied her education, medicine and other benefits of growing up in America.

Jurors heard she was was coerced by emotional and physical abuse, including confiscation of her travel documents and preventing contact with her family.

The couple also threatened to send her back to Africa.

Denise Cros-Toure slapped or hit the child as punishment and an investigator noted scars on the girl's arms and ear.

Diallo told jurors that Cros-Toure once told her she smelled bad so hauled her outside and hosed her down.

'She tried to choke me multiple times,' Diallo said according to Dallas News. 'She pulled my hair.'

Southlake police found the girl in a city park in 2002 noting a disheveled appearance, that she was 'wearing dirty unkempt clothing' and was 'very visibly scared and nervous', according to a police report.

She escaped in August 2016 with the help of neighbors, according to Dallas News.

The pair were taken down to the cells immediately after the verdict was read out, as their children who sat in the public gallery looked devastated.

They face up to 20 years in prison, with a sentencing date yet to be set down.

The defense attorneys said they would appeal the verdict.

Mohamed Toure is the son of Ahmed Sekou Toure, a notoriously cruel Marxist dictator of the West African country of Guinea.

He is believed to have been responsible for the disappearance or imprisonment of tens of thousands of opponents.

Denise Cros-Toure is the daughter of the former president's secretary of state.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
