«Breaking News» School principal and superintendent go viral with their incredible voices as they announce snow day

A snow day never sounded so good!

A pair of school administrators from Michigan ended up putting on quite a show to make an announcement that school was off.

Swartz Creek Community Schools Superintendent Ben Mainka and Principal Jim Kitchen resung the Leonard Cohen classic Hallelujah, adding their own creative lyrics.

At the start of a YouTube video titled 'SCCS Announcement,' Mainka and principal Kitchen were eager to share district-wide news as simply as possible, without any silly antics.

'I know that one of the things that's been happening — which is an epidemic across our country — is that superintendents and other administrators are coming up with ridiculous songs,' Mainka said.

'And they're playing music and putting on sunglasses on and making absolute fools of themselves trying to cancel school for a snow day.'

Then, without warning, the music started to play until Kitchen puts a stop to it.

'Let me reiterate we are not going to humiliate ourselves by singing a snowday song,' he said.

'I honestly don't know what happened. I can't stand it when people sing about snow days!' agreed Mainka.

But once again the music started and this time the duo couldn't resist as they put on their sunglasses and began to croon.

The pair sang beautifully and dueted in harmony throughout the humorous announcement with some witty lines about their day off.

The music then stopped as quickly as it began with principal Kitchen asking what they had just witnessed.

'What, what, wait! What just happened?' he asked.

'It was like this out of body experience just came over me,' said Mainka. 'Families we do apologize for anything you may have seen there,' he continued.

At the end of the announcement, the pair reiterated the fact that school was going to be off.

'For the safety of our students and staff, we are going to be canceling school tomorrow,' Mainka said at the end of video, posted Monday. 'Please be safe and stay warm.'

The video has since been viewed more than 400,000 times.

SNOW DAY TURNED SHOW DAY!

To be sung to the tune of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah

I heard about a winter storm, it's cold and dreary, stay home, stay warm.

It's cold and its a snowy winter morning.

It goes like this, when the snow hits, the buses cant get out it,

It's cold and its a snowy winter morning.

It's a snow day. A winter cold day. Stay home and just play.

It's a great family day.

I know you want to be in school, today we just cant accommodate you.

Bring cookies and I'll try to get one on Wednesday.

And even though we wrote this song, I'm sad and lonely when you're gone.

It's a cold and it's a snowy winter morning.

It's a snow day. A winter cold day. Stay home and just play.

It's a great family day.

It's the end of our snow day song. We will see you before to long.

Be safe, be warm and be a Swartz Creek Dragon

This winter storm will break real soon, please try not to sleep 'till noon,

You really should be working for your parents.

It's a snow day. A winter cold day. Stay home and just play.

It's a great family day.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
