«Breaking News» Irish mother-of-three reveals her incredible four-step method to getting spotless stairs

A busy mother-of-three has revealed her simple four-step method to achieving spotless stairs.

The unnamed nurse posted the tips to Facebook cleaning group 'Hinch Army Cleaning Tips', named after British cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch.

Sharing a picture of the blackened carpets on her staircase, she explained that they had become that way as a result of her children constantly running up and down the stairs in their shoes.

She then revealed that by letting two high street stain-removing products soak into the soiled areas, and scrubbing them with warm water, a brush and a white towel, her stairs were left looking brand new.

And members of the 125,000-strong group marveled over the staircase's transformation, with the post racking up almost 2,000 likes in just a day.

Sharing a before and after picture of her staircase, the mother from Portadown, Northern Ireland wrote: 'Please don't judge the first photo.

'It's sorted now! Our stairs get a lot of traffic with kids running straight upstairs from outside so I read somewhere about 'elbow grease' and thought I would give it a bash before ringing a professional cleaner. Here are the results.'

The mother revealed she used solvent-free grease remover 'Elbow Grease' costing just £1, and heavy duty stain remover 'Dr Beckmann Carpet Stain Remover' which retails at around £5.

Active ingredients in both the Elbow Grease and Dr Beckmann are bleaching agents, so any kind of bleach spray is thought to work as an alternative.

She then revealed that by letting two high street stain-removing products soak into the soiled areas, and scrubbing them with warm water, a brush and a white towel, her stairs were left looking brand new (seen above, afterwards)

She shared her four-step method, writing: 'I sprayed with Elbow Grease then left it for 10 minutes.

'Then I rubbed in Dr Beckmann carpet cleaner and left it for 20 minutes.

'I scrubbed with warm water and a hard brush and then rubbed it with a white towel'.

How to clean your carpeted staircase

1. Spray with Elbow Grease and leave to soak for 10 minutes

2. Rub in Dr Beckmann carpet cleaner and leave for 20 minutes

3. Scrub with warm water and a hard brush

4. Rub with white towel to soak up excess moisture

Joking that the vigorous cleaning session meant she cancelled her spin class, the mother explained: 'I used a white towel so the colour wouldn't run into the carpet'.

She then laughed: 'Omg 1.4k people have liked/loved/laughed at my post that's thousands of people who now know my stairs were rotten'.

Racking up almost 400 comments, one follower praised the transformation, adding: 'Amazing job - looks like a huge amount of hard work and determination- well done you'.

Another said: 'Fab job great tips as well, you should be so proud your house is clearly well loved and lived in which goes for the majority of us we don't all have 'show homes '. This is so inspirational to us all',

'Great job. I hope everyone will take their shoes off after all your hard work', one added.

Surprised by the attention her post had garnered, the mother replied: 'Thanks everyone I'm chuffed and knackered. I'm waiting on Vera pad to dry and then will put kitchen and utility to bed n put my feet up to watch Liverpool match'.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
