«Breaking News» Cheryl reveals who was the man in the mirror

She sent her fans into a frenzy when they spotted a mystery man in the mirror in the background of one of her photos.

But speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Cheryl, 35, put the record straight on exactly who the man in question was... and he's sadly not a love interest.

The singer said: 'It was actually just the sound guy coming to hurry me up while I stood having my picture taken.'

We've got to hand it to her, when Cheryl wears a trend, she doesn't do half a job.

The Greatest Dancer judge shared a picture to her Instagram, looking like she'd stepped out of the Our Girl film set in her army inspired ensemble!

Cheryl opted for a slouchy khaki jumper, camo print boots and a pair of cream utility trousers from celebrity fave label Haider Ackermann. We're just dissappointed not to see any war paint make up.

From canvas fabrics to camo prints, the utility trend has been on fashion's front line of late, having been seen on the catwalks and on the high street alike.

Cheryl's exact trousers are now sold out, but click right to browse the rest of the collection from the label.

Alternatively, get the look with our utility trouser edit below. With styles available at New Look, Topshop, H&M and NET-A-PORTER you're guaranteed to be first in style command.

The former Girls Aloud star looked nothing short of sensational as she struck the pose in a green, off the shoulder jumper, captioning the snap: 'Hi'.

Cheryl's followers flooded her account with comments, desperate to know who her male companion was.

'Who's that in the background?' penned one, as another wrote: 'Who's the random bloke in the mirror ?!' Another joked: 'The bloke in the mirror is like 'can I come in yet?' Lol. Not till the shot if perfect Jeff!'

The singer has been throwing herself back into work after her painful split from Liam Payne last year.

She also gave an insight into how her time on the show has been going.

'We’ve been working really hard in rehearsals' Cheryl told MailOnline of her plans for her final three acts - Frobacks, Dane Bates Collective and Harry & Eleiyah - whom she selected on last weekend's show.

'I feel so excited for them and my plan is just to make sure that they’re feeling happy and confident and comfortable with what they’ve got to do.'

And Cheryl is unable to choose which show she prefers between her old show The X Factor and current show Greatest Dancer.

The singer said: 'It was actually just the sound guy coming to hurry me up while I stood having my picture taken'

The prize is a chance to dance on Strictly Come Dancing 2019, as well as a sizeable cheque.

Cheryl also shared photos where she posed proudly alongside her final Greatest Dancer acts Harry and Eleiyah, dance collective Dane Bates and male group Frobacks.

Cheryl and her fellow The Greatest Dancer captains, Oti and Matthew were relieved as they finally picked their final nine contestants.

But viewers were left disappointed as favourites Andrew and Chris failed to get through to the next stage of the BBC competition .

Taking to Twitter in their droves, fans claimed they were 'totally gutted' as Andrew, who has Down’s Syndrome, or Chris, who is deaf, were booted off the show, after wowing the judges with their initial auditions.

Former Girls Aloud singer Cheryl was brought to tears when Andrew first took to the stage with a passionate performance earlier on in the series.

Overwhelmed with emotion, the Fight For This Love hitmaker told the contestant: 'I just feel really moved by the whole thing, that was amazing.'

Meanwhile, Chris lit up the show with his dance routine and received a standing ovation from Cheryl, Strictly's Oti, 28, and Glee star Matthew, 40.

Taking to Twitter in droves, fans raged as the captains failed to put the pair through to the next round.

One angered fan wrote: 'Ok, think my #thegreatestdancer journey just ended, I can't believe that Chris didn't get through. To be able to dance like that while not hearing the music is beyond talent.  Sad for Andrew too, what he lacked in technicality he made up for in enthusiasm.'

'#Thegreatestdancer Anyone else actually raging that Andrew didn't get through to the live shows?', another penned.

A third tweeted: 'Gutted Andrew didn’t make the final of #thegreatestdancer. I’m biased as my Nephew has Downs but either he or Chris would have been great representation for people with disabilities.'

'Totally gutted for Andrew on #thegreatestdancer I appreciate the pressure of live shows would be challenging but the lad can dance and I really hope he doesn't take it as too much of a blow. We need to see him again giving it his all. What an awesome young man! @BBC, another said.

In agreement, fans continued: '@Matt_Morrison I predicted two of your top 3, so I'm really pleased for you! Just gutted you let Cheryl have Chris, then she sent him home! Good luck in the lives! #thegreatestdancer.'

MailOnline has contacted BBC representatives for further comment.

Good choice! However, some viewers praised the judges for their decision: '#thegreatestdancer I think Matthew has the winner in his group of 3'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
