A young boy accidentally shot his mother with a shotgun while he was sitting in the backseat of their car outside a California preschool.      

Brandon Ambriz, 24, of Norwalk, California, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm and child endangerment, in connection with the shooting, which occurred Wednesday at about 3.30pm outside the Ramona School in Norwalk. 

Authorities said the boy, who is not being named and is under the age of five, was sitting in the backseat of a car along with two of his siblings when he picked up an unsecured shotgun that had been left in the car and accidentally shot their mother through the back of the driver's seat. 

The mother, who is also not being named, was critically injured from the apparent gunshot wound to the mid torso and taken to the hospital where her condition was listed as being fair.  

The woman's three children, as well as a second woman and young child who were sitting in the front passenger seat, were said to be uninjured during the incident. 

The accidental shooting occurred Wednesday outside the Ramona Preschool in Norwalk, California, while the boy, his siblings, mother and two others were in a car in the parking lot

Authorities said the boy picked up a shotgun he found in the backseat and shot his mother through the driver's side seat, critically wounding her in the mid-torso, while in the parking lot

Ambriz (pictured) is being held without bail for violating parole. It's not clear what his relationship is with the young boy or the boy's mother

It's unclear what relationship the other woman and child have to the mother who was shot, but all four of the children in the car at the time of the shooting were placed into the custody of the Department of Children and Family Services, police said.  

Deputy Marvin Crowder told ABC 7 that the incident, which took place in the parking lot outside the preschool, 'appears to be an accident with the young kid pulling the trigger of the shotgun.'  

Police investigating the incident arrested Ambriz Thursday and are holding him without bail for violating parole.  

Authorities have not yet revealed the connection between Ambriz and the child or his mother. 

Ambriz did not appear to have been inside the car at the time of the shooting, Patch.com reported.  

The shotgun used during the incident was secured by police at the scene.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
