«Breaking News» Lindsey Graham says Trump should renominate Kavanaugh if bid fails

Lindsey Graham believes President Trump should renominate Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court if his first attempt fails on a senate vote.  

The South Carolina senator told Fox News's Sean Hannity that he firmly believes Kavanaugh will be confirmed once the FBI wraps up its investigation this week.

But pressed over what he would do if the bid fails, he replied: 'I would renominate him and I would take this case to the American people and I'd ask voters.'

Graham's strategy seems to defy the rationale of the White House, after Trump said he wanted the FBI to finish its investigation 'quickly'.

Mitch McConnell, GOP Senate leader, has also been pushing to confirm Kavanaugh quickly, apparently wanting to resolve the issue before the mid-terms roll around.

But Graham believes that Kavanaugh's treatment, largely perpetrated at the hands of Senate Democrats, could be a vote-winner for Republicans.

'I would appeal the verdict of the Senate to the ballot box,' he said on Tuesday night.

'This good man should not be destroyed. If you legitimize this process by one vote short, it will be unto the next person.

'I would hate to be the next person nominated, I would feel horrible that we destroyed Kavanaugh.'

While Graham has historically been an opponent of Trump, he has come out swinging in defense of his Supreme Court nominee.

Graham has become one of Kavanaugh's staunchest critics, accusing the Democrats of 'destroying' a good man as well as subjecting accuser Christine Blasey Ford to scrutiny

Kavanaugh has repeatedly denied claims that he sexually abused women while extremely drunk at high school house parties in the 1980s

The Senator was among Kavanaugh's staunchest defenders when he gave testimony last week, accusing Democrats of destroying a good man for political gain.

'This is not a job interview. This is hell. This is going to destroy the ability of good people to come forward because of this crap!' he said.  

He said Democrats used Ford for their own political purposes and that she was as much their victim as the judge.

'Boy, y'all want power. Boy, I hope you never get it. I hope the American people can see through this sham, that you knew about it and you held it. 

'You had no intention of protecting Dr. Ford, none! She's as much of a victim as you are,' he noted. 

Graham has since revealed Trump admired his defense of Kavanaugh which was also praised by his wife Melania.

The FBI is due to complete its background check on Kavanaugh this week, before a vote in the senate either late this week or early next.

Republicans believe they have the numbers to push it through, but several wavering senators - including Jeff Flake of Arizona - could thwart it.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
