«Breaking News» ITV announces details of Princess Eugenie wedding coverage

Buckingham Palace has announced details of ITV's royal wedding coverage after reports the BBC declined to televise Princess Eugenie's big day.

The broadcaster will air live coverage of the wedding of Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank on Friday 12 October in an extended This Morning special running from 9.25am to 12.30pm.

The chat show will be on air at the earlier time of 9.25am, with Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford coming live from Windsor.

In August the Mail on Sunday reported that despite being approached by Prince Andrew’s aides, the BBC turned down the chance to broadcast the wedding because they didn’t think enough people would tune in.

Palace sources had indicated that the father of the bride was determined to ensure his younger daughter’s big day make it onto our screens, giving her a ceremony to rival Meghan and Harry’s wedding on May 19.

With Eugenie reportedly keen to outdo her cousin's nuptials, she has reportedly invited more than 850 guests to St George’s Chapel, which holds 800 (Harry and Meghan had 600).

It is thought that Eugenie has also invited a string of celebrities including George and Amal Clooney and pop star Robbie Williams, with his daughter set to be a bridesmaid.

In an announcement on Tuesday morning, ITV said the broadcast will 'capture the atmosphere and arrivals at St George’s Chapel, with Eamonn and Ruth joined by guests, commentators and experts for this specially extended programme'.

At 11am, cameras will cross to live coverage of the ceremony from inside the chapel which will be broadcast in full, including the departure of the bride and groom as they leave the venue.

After the ceremony, ITV will return to This Morning and Eamonn and Ruth will be live with comments, discussion and reflection on the events of the morning.

The coverage will be co-produced by ITV Studios and Spun Gold TV.

ITV will also broadcast a 30-minute highlights programme, The Royal Wedding: A Family Celebration, at 8pm that evening, looking back at the day's events.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
