A man's spelling mistake had mortifying consequences when he inadvertently asked his mother for advice on tackling an STI.
When Dylan Heggie, from Glasgow, Scotland, developed a stye - a red lump that can form on the eye - he asked his mother for advice on treating it, but incorrectly spelled it 'sti'.
It prompted his concerned mother, who believed her son had contracted a sexually transmitted infection (STI), to ask him a series of toe curling questions - including whether his testicles were affected.
Realising his mistake he quickly corrected her, before sharing the embarrassing exchange on Twitter with the post: 'Had a shocker'.
Dylan Heggie, from Glasgow, Scotland, texted his mother asking for advice on how to treat a stye, but misspelt it as 'Sti'. His mother thought he'd contracted a sexually transmitted infection (STI) and then asked him a very personal question (pictured)
Dylan was clearly mortified by the hilarious exchange, and tweeted that he'd 'had a shocker' alongside a face palm emoji (pictured). His tweet went viral and received thousands of likes and retweets on Twitter
Dylan tweeted the cringe-inducing exchange earlier this week and it has since received thousands of likes and retweets on the website.
'Had a shocker,' he posted, followed by a face palm emoji.
A stye is a painful red lump that forms on the eyelid and usually clears up after a week - and is definitely not the result of unprotected sex.
He had texted her asking if she had 'any suggestions on how to get rid of it', seemingly not realising he'd misspellt the word.
The tweet left Twitter users in stitches (pictured), with one admitting that they 'couldn't think of anything worse'
Clearly hesitant to talk about such an intimate matter with her son, his mother replied: 'Honestly? What have you got Son?'
Thinking they were talking about the same thing, Dylan went into more detail about his affliction.
He said: 'God knows I've just noticed it there when I've looked in the mirror.
'It's like a bruise but I only see it when my left eyes shut [sic].'
But his mother wanted to know more, as she began asking him some very intimate questions.
She said: 'Is it on your Willy or your Testicals? X.'
Finally twigging what they were talking about, Dylan fired back: 'Wit ya pedo it's under my eye lid [sic].'
His embarrassed mother quickly came cleaning, telling him: 'OMG I thought you meant S.T.I as is sex trans disease [sic].'
The exchange left Twitter users in stitches and quickly went viral.
One person tweeted: 'This provided a full on belly laugh on a tough day on which I have very little to laugh about. Thank you.'
'I’m buckled et this [sic],' another posted.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
