Troy Deeney has revealed how manager Javi Gracia has imposed a strict new disciplinary system at Watford with fines for lateness of up to £100 per minute.
Gracia, who was appointed in January, tightened his grip at the start of his first full season in charge at Vicarage Road.
It is difficult to argue when his changes have coincided with such an excellent start to the campaign.

'This year the gaffer took charge of how much the fines were,' Deeney told BBC's 5 Live.
'He's made it so all the fines are very steep this year and no one is really messing about to be fair so I think everyone likes their money too much.
'The worst one is £100 a minute for being late. You could be on the M25 and you're sitting there for 35 minutes and its clocking up very quickly.'

Watford's training ground is less than a mile from Junction 22 of the M25 in Hertfordshire.
Abdoulaye Doucoure and Jose Holebas are understood to be among the worst offenders. 'I'm not always on time,' said Doucoure. 'I try. You have to be on time. A lot of the players have come in late so there's a lot of money to spend.'
Watford, Chelsea and Liverpool are the only three teams in the Premier League with maximum points from the first four games.

With a Carabao Cup second-round win at Reading they have won five out of five and face Manchester United at Vicarage Road on Saturday. Gracia has a settled and balanced team, playing in a solid 4-4-2 system.
There is a good spirit in the camp and they are fresh and rested because none of those who have started the season were on World Cup duty in the summer.
'The manager is obsessed with the details,' said Doucoure, although he dismissed the idea Watford might emulate Leicester who forged to the top in 2015-16 and went on to win the title.
'Seriously, no, it's only four games. It is nothing. We are not the new Leicester. We want to be in the top 10.
'We made mistakes last year and we want to be stronger this year.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
