Unai Emery insists he will not follow Arsene Wenger’s lead by treating the Europa League as an inferior competition, with the Spaniard looking to win it for a fourth time.
Emery, who led Sevilla to three successive European titles, is planning to field a strong side when Arsenal kick off their campaign against Ukraine’s Vorskla Poltava on Thursday.
In the group opener against Cologne last season, Wenger made nine changes to his starting line-up to indicate where his priorities lie.

Arsenal travel to Newcastle on Saturday, looking for a third Premier League win in a row
Emery believes that is the wrong approach, and although he wants to compete in the Premier League, he will not do it at the expense of the Europa League.
‘I have proven with my experience to know the best way to manage the players,’ Emery said as his side prepare to face Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle at St James’ Park on Saturday.
‘Now, it is very important for me to think first about the match against Newcastle. We need to win the three points, then think the same for the Europa League.
'My idea first isn’t to change 11 players for one competition and the next competition. The Europa League can help a lot.’

As Sevilla boss, Emery beat Benitez’s Real Madrid two years ago — the only time the coaches have faced each other.
‘Benitez was the first of the Spanish coaches to be working here and is very experienced here,’ Emery said.
‘He is a very competitive coach and Newcastle, with the support they get in their own stadium, are very strong.’

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
