«Breaking News» Trump spends Saturday night on Twitter boasting of support for his 2020 presidential campaign

President Donald Trump has boasted of support for his 2020 reelection bid, in a freewheeling Saturday night Twitter spree that included banter with his boosters.

Trump was tweeting from the White House from 5pm until nearly 10pm, after an earlier outing to Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia was cut short by rain on Saturday afternoon.

'The Dems have tried every trick in the playbook-call me everything under the sun. But if I’m all of those terrible things, how come I beat them so badly, 306-223?' Trump wrote, referring to the 2016 Electoral College results, which in fact were 306 to 232, excluding defections by faithless electors.

'Maybe they’re just not very good! The fact is they are going CRAZY only because they know they can’t beat me in 2020!' Trump continued.

Trump then retweeted one of the responses to his tweet, from JT Lewis, a self-described conservative and the brother of a boy killed in the Sandy Hook school shooting in 2012.

'President Trump will win in 2020 in an even BIGGER landslide than 2016! You are the greatest President EVER, sir!' wrote Lewis.

Earlier, the President started off by approvingly quoting a news report from the New York Times, which has frequently described as 'failing' in the past.

'Mr. Trump remains the single most popular figure in the Republican Party, whose fealty has helped buoy candidates in competitive Republican primaries and remains a hot commodity among general election candidates,' read the quoted section of the report by Times reporter Nicholas Fandos.

Fandos responded to Trump's endorsement by remarking on Twitter that it was 'worth reading the whole story', which is headlined 'Congressional G.O.P. Agenda Quietly Falls Into Place Even as Trump Steals the Spotlight.'

A little after 8pm, Trump resumed tweeting to compliment Diamond and Silk, the stage names of conservative social media personalities Lynnette Hardaway and Rochelle Richardson.

'Our Social Media (and beyond) Stars, @DiamondandSilk, are terrific people who are doing really well. We are all very proud of them, and their great success!' Trump wrote.

It's unclear what prompted the praise, although the duo typically appear on Fox News' Watters World in the 8 o'clock hour on Saturday, a segment that came on the air shortly after Trump tweeted.

Later in the evening, around 9.51pm, Trump retweeted a pinned August tweet from Diamond and Silk praising him as having 'done more for black people than any other President in our lifetime'

Trump went on to predict Republican success in the November midterms.

'Republicans are doing really well with the Senate Midterms. Races that we were not even thinking about winning are now very close, or even leading. Election night will be very interesting indeed!' he wrote.

Trump has no public events scheduled for Sunday.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
