«Breaking News» Steve Smith marries Dani Willis in a secret ceremony

Former Australian cricket captain Steve Smith has married his long-term partner Dani Willis in a secret ceremony. 

Willis took to social media on Saturday to share her wedding day happiness, with a photo which was simply captioned: '15.09.18'.

The wedding came more than a year after Smith got down on one knee and proposed to law student Willis in New York atop the famous Rockefeller Center.

'Today I got to Marry my best friend. What an absolutely incredible day. Dani Willis looked unbelievably beautiful,' Smith posted to his Instagram along with a picture of the pair after the ceremony. 

The guest list was a star studded one with many Australian cricketers making the trip to see their former captain tie the knot. 

The guest list included Nathan Lyon, Mitch Marsh, Pat Cummins, Aaron Finch, Usman Khawaja and Moses Henriques. 

The former Australian cricket captain got down on one knee and proposed to law student Dani Willis in New York atop the famous Rockefeller Centre over a year ago.  

Rumours had swirled the wedding had been cancelled following Australia's cheating saga in South Africa, which saw Smith stripped of his captaincy and banned from international and domestic cricket for 12 months.

The pair hadn't been seen together on Ms Willis' Instagram page since March of 2018, intensifying the rumours the couple had called off the wedding amid Smith's professional turmoil.

Despite the pressure and tumultuous months surrounding the controversy, Smith and his new wife withstood the heat.

'She has been incredibly supportive and is his complete and absolute rock,' he told The Daily Telegraph at the time.

After making the announcement via their social media accounts well wishes came pouring in. 

'Wishing you both a very happy and wonderful married life! God bless you both with good health and happiness. Love and best wishes,' one Instagram user wrote. 

'Congratulations champ we miss u (sic) ..number one test player in the world,' another added.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
