Thousands of Australians turn to fad diets and restrictive diets in a bid to lose weight and transform their health.
But according to Adelaide-born health scientist, Matt Riemann, the answer to successful health and weight loss lies in a simple online quiz.
Mr Riemann studied how lifestyle factors such as diet, exercise and stress impact people's genes and created the quiz to people identify which of the six main health types they are.
Once they have an answer they are told the best approach to diet and exercise and how even the smallest of tweaks can help them lose weight more efficiently.

THE ACTIVATOR
Those who are this health type are the most active out of them all as they tend to be a natural athlete that responds well to exercise.
They gain muscle mass quickly and also manage to lose weight quickly, with their mood being impacted by the environment around them.
It is recommended that they include regular movement throughout their day, such as a walk during their lunch break or a class in the evening.
This body type responds well to short bursts of activity and are better suited to interval training.
When it comes to meals their plates should mainly be filled with protein, followed by carbohydrates and minimal fats.
THE GUARDIAN

People who are the guardian health type tend to be more oval in shape, have big bones, muscles and find it difficult to lose weight.
If they do gain muscle it can often be hidden by the fat on their body but luckily this type of person sticks to their healthy habits once they've developed them.
Because of the body type they are meant to be better at weightlifting, which they should do three to five times a week.
Guardians are more likely to develop diabetes as their pancreas is their weakest organ, so they should avoid consuming copious amounts of sugar.
They thrive on plant-based diets but should snack on vegetables as opposed to fruit.

THE DIPLOMAT
Although this body type is meant to be able to withstand tough circumstances, it does put weight on more easily and finds it difficult to lose it as well.
The diplomat finds it easier to lift weights, is able to have great muscle definition and they also have a high pain threshold.
As the body tends to retain fluid, it is recommended that they exercise three to five times a week.
A diet high in vegetables and low in animal proteins is best for them.
It takes them the longest to digest foods, and meat can build up in their digestive system so it is recommended to eat three main meals over a 12-hour period.
'As the most naturally nomadic body, the diplomat has a sturdy body with a long gut that can easily fast five to six hours between meals,' Mr Riemann said on the ph360 website.

THE SENSOR
'The sensor is naturally long and thin, with light bones and the tendency to store very little fat,' he said.
'With this in mind, the Sensor is usually sensitive to the cold and requires fuel like snacks to keep their energy throughout the day.'
They also have a fast metabolism and low body fat, so are unlikely to put on weight, even if they eat badly for a period of time.
It is recommended that this health type do exercises such as Pilates and yoga three to five times a week.
Their diet should mainly consist of vegetables, grains, moderate fats and lower levels of protein.

THE CRUSADER
'The crusader has a long, lean frame but has the capacity to hold or build more muscle... Their joints are of medium size and their body is built for endurance, allowing them to push through and achieve whatever crusade they pursue,' he said.
They look naturally athletic and they lose weight easily because of their high thyroid function which also means they have trouble building muscle.
Crusaders are lucky as exercise increases the levels of dopamine in their brain, making them enjoy working out.
Mr Riemann suggested that these types try running, swimming, cycling and hiking four to five times a week.
When it comes to their diet it is suggested they eat fill their plate with carbohydrates and vegetables and consume less protein and fats.
THE CONNECTOR
The connector thrives off of variety when it comes to exercise as it keeps him happy and healthy.
They also have a great relationship with food and are connected to how it looks, tastes and feels.
The health type unfortunately loses weight very slowly but sunlight is one of their main motivators, so warmer months tends to be the best time to make a change.
It is recommended that the connector works out five times a week, mixing up weights and cardio by doing circuit classes.
They need a balanced diet made up of a small amount of protein, lots of vegetables, some grains and healthy fats.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
