Karlie Kloss has acknowledged the 'complications' that come with navigating her public relationship with Joshua Kushner and his family ties to Donald Trump.
The model, 26, opened up about her fiancé Joshua, 33, in a new interview with Vogue published on Tuesday. Joshua, a venture capitalist who was one described by his rep as a 'lifelong Democrat', is the brother of Jared Kushner, 37, who is himself married to first daughter Ivanka Trump, 36.
Both Jared and Ivanka are senior advisers in Donald Trump's White House. Karlie, who endorsed Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election, told Vogue she has chosen to rely on her own 'moral compass' when dealing with her love life and her connection to the current commander-in-chief.

'At the end of the day, I've had to make decisions based on my own moral compass—forget what the public says, forget social media,' she told the magazine.
'I've chosen to be with the man I love despite the complications.
'It's frustrating, to be honest, that the spotlight is always shifted away from my career toward my relationship. I don't think the same happens in conversations with men.'
Despite their family connection to the current conservative White House, Karlie told Vogue she and Joshua both have liberal values.
'Josh and I share a lot of the same liberal values that guide our lives and the things we stand for,' she told the magazine.
'We've really grown together personally and professionally. Josh knows that I'm just a nerdy, curious human being. I think that's why he loves me. We have each other's back.'
In her interview with Vogue, Karlie didn't confirm nor deny rumors that she might have converted to Orthodox Judaism ahead of her nuptials with Joshua. The two became engaged in July after six years of dating.

Shortly after the news of Karlie and Joshua's engagement broke, Ivanka congratulated the couple on social media and called the model her 'sister'.
'So, so happy for you and Josh! I feel blessed to have you as a sister (!!!) Karlie and look forward to the decades of happy memories we will create together as a family! [sic]' Ivanka wrote at the time.

Karlie made clear her political views in November 2016, when she shared an image of herself on Instagram filling out a voting form in favor of Hillary Clinton — along with the caption: 'I'm with her.'
While declining an interview on Joshua's behalf with Esquire magazine in 2016, a spokesperson confirmed to the publication that he considered himself a 'lifelong Democrat', adding that he would not be voting for Trump in the presidential election.
His father, Charles Kushner, was also once a prominent and elite Democrat, before being convicted of 18 counts of tax evasion, illegal campaign donations, and witness tampering.
Back when Karlie announced her engagement on Instagram, she referred to Joshua as her 'best friend and soulmate'.
'I love you more than I have words to express,' she wrote alongside a sunset picture of the couple that shows Joshua beaming into the camera while Karlie plants a kiss on his cheek.
'Josh, you’re my best friend and my soulmate. I can’t wait for forever together. Yes a million times over.'
She finished off the gushing caption with a diamond ring emoji.
Having started dating in June 2012, Karlie and Joshua have only attended a handful of public events together in the six years since, and even then Joshua has avoided making an appearance on the red carpet.

At this year's Met Gala, which the couple attended together, Joshua chose to skip the carpet entirely, leaving his then-girlfriend to pose for photos alone before joining her inside the lavish star-studded event, where he happily posed up for several more candid social media snaps.
The couple has also avoided making public appearances with Joshua's high-profile brother and sister-in-law; Karlie was pictured sharing a box with Ivanka and Jared at the US Open in 2016, along with the likes of billionaire David Geffen and Wendi Deng, however Joshua is not thought to have been present.
It is thought to be the only time that Karlie and Ivanka have been pictured together at a public event.
Joshua has been seen with his brother and sister-in-law more recently however; he was pictured with Ivanka and the couple's three children near their home in Washington, DC, on the Jewish holiday of Shavuot last year.
The brothers were also pictured together in January 2017 when the venture capitalist attended senior White House adviser Jared's swearing in at the White House — one day after attending an anti-Trump women's march.
At the time, Joshua is said to have told others present at the march that he was merely 'observing' and not actually taking part, however it was not the first time that his own political opinions were reported as being at odds with those of his brother's father-in-law.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
