Historically, female orgasms and the idea of women enjoying sex for pleasure's sake have been awkward, taboo subjects often given a wide birth in social conversation.

Even in recent years, a slew of studies have uncovered the reality that more than 50 per cent of females have never had a full orgasm.

But sex and relationship expert Pamela Supple believes climaxing is achievable for every woman, provided they follow some golden ground rules.

Speaking to FEMAIL, the Sydney-based intimate adviser shared her advice on becoming more in tune with your body and exactly how to orgasm in less than five minutes.

When it comes to sexual climax, Ms Supple acknowledged how personal it is for every person.

'It's something that is extremely individual to everyone - some people can easily have an orgasm after anywhere between two and five minutes of stimulation, while others find it a deeply problematic sensation to achieve,' she said.

Orgasms are unique to every person and can trigger a range of different reactions like muscle tensing and funny faces which can bring out insecurities for certain people.

'These involuntary responses can make you very self-conscious and self-aware, so it really comes down to letting go and overcoming that which can be immensely difficult for some,' she said.

'You need to give your body and mind permission to have pleasure.'

Ms Supple explained that orgasms can remain elusive for women who are out of touch with how their body works.

'Some people explore and come to understand their sexuality from childhood, so they know exactly what sensation and intensity of touch they enjoy.

'Others are less tuned in and nowadays, people have a lot on their minds which can be tough to switch off.

'I hate saying it because it's become such a cliche, but it's all about mindfulness and saying I'm here for a specific reason: pleasure.'

Ms Supple encouraged women to let go and 'allow the body to experience every sensation', and suggested trying a vibrator alone to begin with if that seems less daunting than discussing with a partner.

'A lot of women don't have a problem reaching orgasm by themselves because they've created their own safe space,' she explained.

Ms Supple suggested trying The Womanizer, a vibrator recently endorsed by UK songstress Lily Allen who said it enabled her to orgasm in less than five minutes.

'It comes in different sizes and the little one is fantastic, particularly for travelling - the intensity also suits everyone.

'The prototype comes with a suction and air-blowing function, as well as degrees of speed which you can work through making it ideal for any sexual preference,' she said.

Ms Supple finished by urging women to enjoy every aspect of sex and not to fixate on reaching orgasm as a necessary outcome.

'A lot is being said these days about speaking up and telling your partner if you're not having an orgasm, but sex is beautiful in itself – it doesn't need to culminate in an orgasm every time,' she said.

'If you want to have an orgasm, of course you should open the conversation to find different ways of doing this, but my advice is always to enjoy the journey more than the destination.

'Sex is about getting to know your body intimately and becoming mindful about it - clear your head and enjoy the moments leading up to orgasm,' she advised.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
