«Breaking News» FBI director Christopher Wray says 'terror threat is everywhere'

FBI director Christopher Wray has warned that 'the threat of terrorism is everywhere' as he revealed the bureau has made 120 terror-related arrests in the past year alone.

In an interview with CBS This Morning, Wray also said that terrorists were just as likely to target smaller towns in the US and said that attacks could happen 'from coast to coast'.

'We had about 1,000 investigations into just these homegrown violent extremists,' Wray said, 'that's out of about 5,000 terrorism investigations.

'People think of the 9/11 threat, they think New York, they think D.C. Today's terrorism threat is everywhere, coast to coast, north, south, east, west. It's not just big cities.'

In an interview with CBS This Morning Wray said the FBI receives around two terror tip-offs per day as it constantly deals with the threat

According to Wray, attacks were foiled in the past year on a San Francisco pier, a shopping mall in Miami, and crowds at a Fourth of July celebration in Cleveland.

The warning comes 17 years to the day since the 9/11 terror attacks rocked the US killing 2,996 people.

Wray was quick to say he believed 'we're safer' since 9/11 but that terrorism had evolved since then.

The FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force receives about 15,000 tips a year, which works out to 40 tips a day or two tips an hour.

Most recently Demetrius Nathaniel Pitts was arrested for allegedly assisting Al Qaeda plot a Fourth of July terror attack in Ohio.

The US citizen allegedly proclaimed allegiance to Al Qaeda and planned to attack a Fourth of July celebration in downtown Cleveland by setting off a van filled with explosives and by sending remote control cars filled with bombs and shrapnel to the children of military officers.

He also wanted to take St. John's Cathedral in Cleveland 'off the map'.

Pitts wanted to target crowds that would gather for the Fourth of July parade in Cleveland as well firework spectators near his building, officials said.

Police revealed that last week he surveyed Fourth of July celebration locations throughout downtown Cleveland, scouting Voinovich Park and the US Coast Guard station, to plan the attack.

His plans were foiled after he detailed his intentions to an undercover FBI agent posing as an Al Qaeda associate.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
