«Breaking News» Family forced to hold THREE funerals for baby girl killed by her father

A family have had to endure three funerals for a five-week-old baby girl after police kept discovering body parts they had not returned.

Five-week-old Leah Aldridge had a cold and was not sleeping when she was shaken to death by her father Andrew Ashurst, at their home in Atherton, near Manchester.

Leah sustained massive brain damage and died in hospital two day later, on Christmas Day in 2002.

Ashurst was later jailed for three years but served just 18 months of his sentence.

Conservative MP Chris Green today revealed her family were told last year that Greater Manchester Police had not returned all of Leah's body parts, forcing them to hold three funerals for her.

Mr Green has now urged Prime Minister Theresa May to launch an inquiry.

Speaking at Prime Minister's Questions, Mr Green revealed that after the coroner and Greater Manchester Police finished their investigation in 2002, Leah's body was returned to the family for her funeral.

But last year the police discovered they had retained some of Leah's body parts and these were returned to the family for a second funeral.

Mr Green added: 'Only a few weeks ago yet more body parts were discovered by the police and the family had to go through the ordeal of a third funeral.'

MPs could be heard reacting in disbelief at the situation, with Mr Green adding: 'They have no confidence in Greater Manchester Police or the police and crime commissioner, the mayor of Greater Manchester (Andy Burnham), that they now have finally allowed the family to lay their daughter Leah to rest.

Theresa May said it was an 'absolutely terrible case' and expressed her sympathies to Leah's family for their 'prolonged trauma'

'Would the Prime Minister hold an inquiry into this matter for the sake of Leah's family and for other families across Greater Manchester?'

Theresa May said it was an 'absolutely terrible case' and expressed her sympathies to Leah's family for their 'prolonged trauma'.

She said she understood the deputy mayor of Greater Manchester had been in touch with the Human Tissue Authority about the case to evaluate what went wrong.

he added: 'Officials in the Home Office are going to be meeting both with Greater Manchester Police and the National Police Chiefs Council to further address this issue of historically held human tissue and I'll ensure the relevant Home Office minister updates (Mr Green) on the outcomes of those meetings.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
