«Breaking News» Extra train seats for V&A Dundee opening

Trains to Dundee will have extra seats to cope with a surge in visitors expected as the V&A opens this weekend.

The £80.1 million building, designed by Kengo Kuma, will open its doors on September 15 and museum bosses anticipate a high number of visitors.

More than 10,000 people are expected to attend an event on Friday September 14 with thousands more visiting on Saturday for a family-based festival along the waterfront.

ScotRail said an additional late-night train will run on Friday from Dundee to Perth, while more than 50 trains on Saturday will operate with extra seats.

ScotRail chief operating officer Angus Thom said: “We’re delighted to support the V&A on what is a significant step forward in the transformation of the Dundee waterfront, and a major new cultural development for Scotland.

“To help people enjoy the experience over the weekend we have plans in place to help them get to and from both the evening event and the official opening itself.

“We expect our services to be busy so people should plan their journeys in advance, check train times regularly by using our app or the ScotRail website, and make sure they have a ticket before travel.”

Entry to the museum over the opening weekend is reserved for those who have pre-booked tickets.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
