«Breaking News» Emmerdale fans reduced to TEARS by Charity Dingle plot conclusion

They were left fearing whether she would finally get justice after his wife's shock testimony.

But Emmerdale fans were shedding tears of joy on Wednesday night, as Charity Dingle finally saw DI Bails found guilty of rape after she suffered years of teenage abuse at the hands of the policeman.

As they took to Twitter to celebrate Bails' 30-year prison sentence, others were left fearing for Charity's state of mind in the aftermath, as the episode's closing scenes saw her break down alone in her bedroom.

Charity appeared to be a woman on the edge in the tense episode, as she admitted from the outset that she couldn't face the verdict in court.

Tuesday night's episode saw the landlady struggle to get through a testimony of Bails' (Rocky Marshall) abuse of her as a teen, which led her to give birth to son Ryan (James Moore) who she for years thought had died.

While it seemed the jury were starting to join her side, Bail's wife Chloe made a surprise appearance in court, desperate to dismiss Charity's stories as false and depict Bails' as a good man dedicated to the force.

After a private talk with former flame Cain (Jess Hordley), Charity made her way into the courtroom, where she and the Dingles were delighted to see Bails found guilty of rape, keeping Charity imprisoned and profiting from her prostitution.

The policeman was then sentenced to 30 years in prison, and Charity appeared almost numb with shock as he was taking back to the cells.

Final scenes saw Charity struggle to maintain her strength alongside girlfriend Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick), before breaking down in tears alone in the darkened bedroom.

Fans took to Twitter in their droves to commend actress Emma Atkins' performance in the episode, admitting they were brought to tears by Charity's struggling to cope with the aftermath.

One wrote: 'The perfect, and definitely well deserved conclusion to Charity's child abuse storyline tonight! Phenomenal acting by Emma Atkins throughout, and especially over the last couple of days during the trials!! Emmerdale I applaud you yet again!'

A third gushed: 'Emmerdale I just want to give her so many hugs.' 

Emmerdale bosses that teased that Charity's loved ones will see her struggling to cope in the coming weeks, hitting the bottle and pushing girlfriend Vanessa away.

It will fall on Charity's co-landlady Chas (Lucy Pargeter) to try and get her back to her usual feisty self, and fans will have to wait and see whether she can put the traumatic ordeal behind her.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
