«Breaking News» Duckie Thot is L’Oréal Paris' newest ambassador

Melbourne-born model Duckie Thot is joining the ranks of Jane Fonda and Eva Longoria after being announced as the latest ambassador for L'Oréal Paris.

The 22-year-old, who is of Sudanese descent, will make her debut for the cosmetics company at Paris Fashion Week later this month.

It comes after the former Australia's Next Top Model star landed a coveted spot at the 2018 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in New York City.

Duckie will make her L'Oréal Paris debut on September 30 at the brand's Paris Fashion Week show, which is being held on a floating runway on the River Seine.

Following that, the Melbourne-born beauty will front campaigns for L'Oréal Paris' Volume Million Lashes, Infallible Foundation and Colourista collections.

Duckie, who is also a face of Rihanna's Fenty Beauty line, said she was honoured to join the L'Oréal Paris family, telling Women's Wear Daily: 'I'm honoured to represent L’Oréal Paris, a brand that celebrates infinite ways to be beautiful and makes products for all women.

'I'm looking forward to helping more girls love the beauty of their dark skin. In my mind, I'm going back in time and telling the young girl I was: "Dream big, work hard and trust in yourself girl, because one day you're going to say yes to the number-one beauty brand".'

Duckie's latest appointment as a L’Oréal Paris ambassador marks her incredible journey to stardom.

Raised in Melbourne as the daughter of South Sudanese refugees, Duckie competed in the 2013 season of Australia's Next Top Model where she finished in third place.

Despite her success on Top Model, the African-Australian beauty struggled to achieve any mainstream recognition Down Under and subsequently moved to New York City - where her career took off.

'I just thought, "Why am I here?" So I was just like, "Let me make the executive decision to move to New York. I'm not getting my coins in Australia",' she told Sydney's Daily Telegraph last year.

She eventually signed with New York Model Management but it was a chance run-in with rapper Kanye West in 2016 that helped propel her career to new heights.

'I left a casting in New York and Kim, from Kanye's team, ran out after me,' she previously told Vogue magazine.

'"You have to come upstairs! Kanye will love your look!" she cried. I didn't even know Kanye was in the same building! I followed her to see what was up and ended up shooting a magazine cover that day.'

Duckie then booked the Yeezy spring/summer 2017 show, which was her first runway gig.

Last year, she became the face of pop star Rihanna's beauty brand Fenty.

'I'm still trying to get my head around working with Rihanna, she's one of the most influential women in the world,' she said.

Duckie also starred in the 2018 Alice in Wonderland-inspired Pirelli Calendar alongside supermodel Naomi Campbell.

'I went to Tim Walker's casting in London and was more nervous than ever, I had no idea what to expect,' she said. 'By the time I was off the plane back in New York, I had the part.'

And this November, Duckie will make her Victoria's Secret runway debut at the lingerie brand's annual show to be held this year in New York.

Duckie shared the exciting news via an Instagram post earlier this month.

'Words can't express how much this means to me! Thank you @victoriassecret for the opportunity of a lifetime. This moment means the world. Always believe you can do anything,' she told her followers.

Duckie will be in good company at the upcoming Victoria's Secret show, with Georgia Fowler and Shanina Shaik also gracing the runway.

It comes ...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
