«Breaking News» Charles Leclerc crashes as Red Bull dominate Singapore GP first practice

Red Bull overshadowed the main title rivals at Mercedes and Ferrari after Daniel Ricciardo headed a one-two in first practice for this weekend's Singapore Grand Prix.

The Australian posted a 1:39.711 - two tenths quicker than Max Verstappen - to go fastest at Marina Bay.

Sebastain Vettel was just a fraction slower than Verstappen in third while championship leader Lewis Hamilton was sixth fastest for Mercedes.

Hamilton goes into the weekend 30 points in front of Vettel after taking a stunning victory at the Italian Grand Prix last time out.

But despite finishing well off the pace in the early evening session - 1.5 seconds slower than Ricciardo - there was little concern from Mercedes.

Valtteri Bottas was also a lowly eighth but the Silver Arrows opted not to run the quicker hyper soft tyres their rivals did, opting instead to focus on long runs in preparation for the race.

Ferrari only ran the hyper soft tyre with Kimi Raikkonen five tenths down on Vettel to complete the session fourth quickest.

Raikkonen will leave the team at the end of the season, making way for the highly promising Charles Leclerc.

But in his first session since his confirmed move to Ferrari, Leclerc made the biggest error in first practice.

Renault's pace looked promising as Hamilton was caught sandwiched between fifth place Nico Hulkenberg and Carlos Sainz, while Romain Grosjean's Haas rounded off the top 10.

Fernando Alonso was the fastest McLaren down in 14th. The two Williams led by Lance Stroll were only kept off the bottom by Alonso's team-mate Stoffel Vandoorne.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
