Francisco Arcia homered twice, doubled and drove in four runs, and Felix Pena threw six scoreless innings to lead the Los Angeles Angels to an 8-1 victory over the Texas Rangers on Wednesday night in Anaheim, Calif.
Arcia, a backup catcher hitting ninth in the lineup, drove in two runs with a second-inning double and hit solo homers in the sixth and eighth innings, his fourth and fifth long balls of the season.
Jose Fernandez also homered for Los Angeles, which also got three hits from Andrelton Simmons and two from Shohei Ohtani.
The Angels took an early lead in the second inning on Arcia's two-out, two-run double against Rangers starter Yovani Gallardo.
Los Angeles increased its lead to 6-0 in the third, hitting for the cycle in four consecutive at-bats after Gallardo retired the first two batters of the inning.
Ohtani doubled and Justin Upton followed with an RBI triple. After Simmons singled to drive in Upton, Fernandez hit a two-run home run. Gallardo (8-5) got the final out of the inning, but he was finished after three, having given up six runs on six hits and one walk. He fanned four.
It remained 6-0 until the sixth inning when Arcia hit a solo homer.
Meanwhile, Pena (3-4) sailed through his six innings, allowing six hits -- all singles -- with no walks and three strikeouts, making just 77 pitches. Pena now has three consecutive starts in which he has given up two runs or fewer and lasted at least six innings.
The closest the Rangers came to scoring against Pena came in the third inning when they had runners on first and second with two outs. Elvis Andrus singled, but center fielder Mike Trout threw out Robinson Chirinos trying to score from second to end the inning.
The Rangers finally got on the scoreboard in the seventh inning when Joey Gallo hit a solo homer, his 36th of the season, off Angels lefty Williams Jerez. Texas had gone 15 consecutive innings without scoring in the series before Gallo connected.
Chirinos led the Rangers' offense with three hits.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
