We all know that bi-carb soda is a life saver when it comes to cleaning the home - but it can also be used as a DIY beauty product.

Also known as baking soda, most people envision images of spotless surfaces and cupboards but not many know that it can also be included in every beauty routine.

With some Australian brands selling a 500 gram box for only $2.40, it can be used to do anything from removing patchy fake tan to exfoliating skin.

Skin tends to be dryer in the winter months and now that summer is right around the corner it's time for people to prepare themselves.

For the mixture to be most effective the soda has to be completely dissolved as this is what will also remove dead skin. 

It's frustrating having to deal with patchy fake tan but the affordable powder has again proven why it's such a life saver as half a cup of bi-carb with half a cup of lemon juice can work miracles.

Once applied to fake tan effected skin and left for a few minutes the blend will easily remove fake tan once in the shower.

It can also be used to remedy tired, damaged or greasy hair as a baking soda hair mask will assist in stripping out all unnecessary chemicals.

To make an effective mask people need to make a paste using bi-carb and water and how much people need will all depend on their hair thickness and length.

It has to be left on the hair for 10 to 15 minutes before being rinsed out thoroughly then shampooed and conditioned. 

If you want a cheaper alternative to dry shampoo, bi-carb is a saviour for oily roots.

People can also use bi-carb soda as a dry shampoo as people can sprinkle a small amount on their roots

Sprinkle a small amount of the soda on greasy hair and move it through, covering all roots and shaking out any excess. 

You can also soothe a black eye simply with a paste of bi-carb on a cold cloth applied to the area and use the same past to soothe itchy skin.

You can even use the product to replace other things already in your health and beauty routine. Instead of buying mouthwash, add one teaspoon of bi-carb to a small glass of warm water. Swish around your mouth and ta-da; fresh breath!

If you want a more natural deodorant, stay away from chemicals and just dust some bi-carb under your arms to absorb odours and sweat. 

If your issue is acne, bi-carb can also be used to help fight blackheads. Spreading a bi-carb paste on the areas you tend to get spots for a couple of minutes once a week can help.

You can even use it instead of toothpaste. Simply apply a small amount on a damp toothbrush, then brush and rinse as usual.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy.
