Married couples argue less when they hit middle age and have fewer spats the closer they get to retirement, a survey has revealed.
Around 42 per cent of British couples row at least once a day - but this figure decreases once they turn 45.
Almost half of 18 to 24-year-olds get into arguments on a daily basis - rising to 59 per cent for those between 25 and 34.

The figure for those aged 35 to 44 increases again to 60 per cent, the Daily Express reported.
But as soon as couples reach between 45 and 54, the rate of daily arguments decreases rapidly to 35 per cent.
Only 26 per cent of couples between 55 and 64 argue once a day - with just 25 per cent of the over 65s entering daily rows.
Ten per cent of couples surveyed argue more than once a day - and could become frustrated with their significant other more than 1000 times a year.

A quarter of these couples put their rows down to general mess in the household, including washing the dishes and putting out the bins.
But 22 per cent insist money is the source of their problems.
Age | Percentage who argue daily |
---|---|
18 - 24 | 46 |
25 - 34 | 59 |
35 - 44 | 60 |
45 - 54 | 35 |
55 - 64 | 26 |
65+ | 25 |
Rows also stem from redecorating for 21 per cent of couples, with another six per cent of disagreements being sparked by the central heating.
Childcare, including school runs and children's parties, account for three per cent.
The survey found Edinburgh and Belfast were the most argumentative cities, with Manchester and Norwich coming a close second.
But couples in Glasgow, Liverpool and Bristol don't appear to argue more than once a day.
The survey of 2,000 couples was commissioned by Direct Blinds.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
