«Breaking News» Proposal on Colorado peak leads to couple's altitude issues

A Texas man found a scenic location in the Colorado mountains to propose to his girlfriend, but the couple ran into trouble on the way down.

The Boulder County sheriff's office said 27-year-old Joshua Mason of Denton, Texas, took 28-year-old Katie Davis on a hike Saturday to Jasper Peak at an elevation of nearly 13,000 feet.

They got lost as darkness fell.

The couple were showing signs of altitude sickness and dehydration when a hiker found them. 

He led them to his camp and gave them food, water and a place to warm up. Another camper called for help.

Deputies learned the couple's engagement is still on

A paramedic with the Nederland Fire Protection District examined the couple, who were located at the Diamond Lake.

'He determined that Mason and Davis needed to move to a lower altitude immediately,' the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said. 

'Mason was hoping to find an isolated scenic location "away from any other people" to propose to Davis.'

Rescuers reached the camp early Sunday and walked the couple to their car.  

'By that point they had recovered enough that they were both able to walk down to the trail head, assisted by Rocky Mountain Rescue Group personnel,' the sheriff's office added.

They didn't require medical treatment.

Sgt. Clay Leak said deputies learned the engagement was still on.

Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Juventus will be able to cope without star player Cristiano Ronaldo in their midweek Champions League match, claims midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur.

Ronaldo is suspended for the clash with Young Boys on Tuesday after being sent off on his European debut for Juve in their opening group game against Valencia. 

Juve do have plenty of attacking options however, such as Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala, and Bentancur is confident they can manage without the £100m man.

Bentancur told the Juventus website: 'We want to win against Young Boys so that we can put one foot in the next round of the Champions League, but we know that it will be tough because as I said before all the teams that play against us give their best.

'There will be no Cristiano and we know how important he is for us, but this is a team sport, there are eleven of us out there whoever will be on the field will give their maximum.' 

Ronaldo was in top form at the weekend, helping Juve to a 3-1 Serie A win over title rival Napoli and playing a part in all three goals.

It means Juve - looking for their eighth successive title - are already six points clear of Napoli after seven games, and Bentancur said that confidence is flowing through the Turin dressing room.

He said: 'It was a very positive day. We have to play to win all the games and keep increasing that gap and we are confident that we can do so.

'We know that we are very experienced and we are strong. We play every game to the maximum, also because we know that being Juve every opponent will do the same.'

A rat was seemingly the main source of entertainment for Chicago Cubs fans last Tuesday at Wrigley Field.

An enthusiastic crowd is seen on video cheering on the determined rodent as it attempts to make its way over a barrier in the outfield.

The cellphone video was taken at the game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, when the Cubs were defeated 6-0.

Rowdy game-goers are heard in the stands shouting and clapping for the rat as it makes its first big leap.

Cubs fans are heard clapping once more and congratulating the rat before the video concludes.

The actress, who is dating millionaire Adam Rigby, knows a thing or two about keeping fit and healthy despite her hectic schedule.
